That sounds very gracious of DS....hmm, well we all may have to change our tune if DS is supportive of the movie. BUT even if he has a cameo, he probably has not actually read the whole script nor does he probably know what they will do with it.
But I am surprised he agreed to do a cameo. I doubt that DB will, although maybe if his buddy DS talks him into it he would?
The video of the "trailer" for the movie that SHOULD BE HAPPENING is terrific! Now that I could really get into...if they had a son of Hannibal's join the team and if the plot was to get the slimeballs who killed Hannibal. I would just love to see the characters (especially Murdock) in shock when they would get the news that someone killed Hannibal. (I would start the movie with this news.) And then to see the characters (again, especially Murdock) get mad, like Murdock does in BOUNTY to the main bounty hunter.....now THAT would be something that I would be so excited about!

I think that plot would be better too...a way to youthen the team without trampling on the old team.

I was going to boycott the movie. Now, however I think I'll watch it only to be able to express my negative opinion of it. I'm sure it will be a complete fiasco. Please download it in that case, don't give money to these people.

Here's a "very interesting" interview with Bradley Cooper. Not that we learn much from it other than that apparently the movie's gonna be fantastic. Anyway...

Though I guess you live in a country where The A-Team is still very popular. Guess it could be interesting, but still backing a project you're not in favor for seems wrong.

Actually, it's not that popular here... That's why I was hoping that perhaps I could meet someone who likes the show in the cinema (honestly, though I doubt that anyone who loved the old A-Team would go to see that movie). Besides, if DS is apparently backing it now, why can't I?

I'm at least willing to try it if DS is somewhat enthusiastic about SC's performance (and of course, since he's doing a cameo.) He (DS) doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would give unwarranted praise. Mosame, it's too bad you can't come to the States for a week and crash with me. I'd turn you into a hard-core Murdockian again. ;D Aquamaniac and Mosame: you guys have an interesting perspective on all this, being in Europe. How popular is TAT still? I know it's still huge in places like the UK and the Netherlands, but how about Sweden and Poland?

I will probably see it just to see what it is like, especially being endorsed by SJC and Dwight Schultz. Hopefully it will be worth something, even though it won't be like the series. It might be worth it...

Besides, if DS is apparently backing it now, why can't I? Oh, you see that's a cultural difference right there. Swedes don't talk to people they don't know in places like theatres, bus stops etc. Don't want to burst anyones bubble, but former stars of tv-shows have made cameos in remakes before, lots of times. Mostly they have not turned out right. Mizzie, The A-Team is not a completely forgotten show here in Sweden, us 80's guys & gals remember it fondly. To the younger generation though, the show is basically unknown. It hasn't aired on a respectable time in probably over a decade.

BTW Mosame, I thought The A-Team was still popular in Poland? Wasn't there a commercial out when you could get an A-Team DVD with the purchase of a magazine or something?

It remains to be seen if they even keep DS's cameo in the final cut of the movie. I know that the old stars of LAND OF THE LOST made cameo appearances, but I believe they were cut. Hearing how bad that movie was, I would be glad to be cut. And I think seeing DS as anyone other than Murdock in something that is supposed to be about the A-Team could be really disappointing....kind of like bringing back Markie Post as Rina after she was already Leslie. But DS is such a good actor, if anyone can pull it off, he can.

BTW Mosame, I thought The A-Team was still popular in Poland? Wasn't there a commercial out when you could get an A-Team DVD with the purchase of a magazine or something? Yep. Some people were clearly excited about it. And it was rather hard to buy these magazines for the first few weeks (but mainly because the newsagents ordered only three to four copies, clearly not expecting anyone would buy them). People were even chatting on the forums, asking each other where in the city the magazine is still available. ;D But that was pretty much it. Soon, anyone could buy them without any problem. And soon the show was forgotten again. What is more, we don't even have a proper A-Team forum in Poland and I don't know a single person here who is half as obsessed about this show as I used to be. Therefore, I wouldn't say it's popular. But I know for a fact, that many people still remember it. Speaking of DS... I don't think we should change our tune because of him. It seems to me that the writers are aware of the fact that many of the people who loved the original A-Team may not be that excited about the new movie. But if the actor who played one of the main characters in the original series changes his not-so-supportive attitude toward the movie, and not only says that the actor who plays his part is better than he was, but even agrees to play a cameo role in it, many of the fans may feel inclined to see it. All it really means is that there's nothing in that movie other than DS to draw our attention. They just want to make more money on a popular title (and a popular actor). That's all. Why DS even agreed to do that remains unknown to me. But he's not my guru and I'm not going to start saying how happy I am about that movie just because he's in it. I'm not. I thought they caused enough damage to the show with season five. But it always can be worse. Sorry for the long and apparently angry post. Clearly too angry for a person who is no longer an A-Team fan.

Do you think that if the movie came out back when you were obsessed with Murdock (or DS) that you would see the movie because he was in it? I was looking at a DS forum, and it seems like people over there are excited about the movie, and especially because of him being in it. I'm more inclined to feel like you, Mosame. I don't know what DS' motives are for agreeing to do a cameo. He may just need the money - who knows? But I still don't want to sit through the whole movie and support it just because he is in it. And if this other Murdock is really better than DS, then it could ruin watching the '80s shows for me.....okay, that is not likely to happen, but.....

But it would have made me more angry for sure. I was looking at a DS forum, and it seems like people over there are excited about the movie, and especially because of him being in it. Are they? Oh, well... It only proves my theory about DS being in it.

I think I may agree with your theory....it is like they are throwing DS into the movie to appease us hard-core "there's only one A-Team!" fans.
To be fair, though, it is possible it could be a good movie. Maybe it will get a new generation interested in the original. Who knows?
If miz really likes the movie, I suspect that I would too since she and I have similar tastes in which episodes of TAT we like. HD and I disagree a bit more, but if someone who is such a fan of the original show really likes it, maybe I would too.
But I don't even usually enjoy the 2-parters of the original show as much as hour-long episodes (with the exception of RANGE RIDER), so I don't know that I would even enjoy it if it were the original cast for 2 hours.
When I go to modern movies (admittedly, that is a rare thing), I often feel bored and they seem so long to me.
I even was bored with LORD OF THE RINGS, mainly the second one, as it seemed to me like once I saw one battle I had seen them all. And it seemed like it was battle after battle in that one to me.
But I cannot even remember the last movie I actually saw in a theater. Maybe it was PRINCE CASPIAN - I saw that one probably around May of 2008. And I was kind of bored with it, too.
