Amy, I just realized why. Truly. I get him. I UNDERSTAND him, truly. I understand angsty, abandonment issues Face. I can see through his womanizing ways, his scams, and I GET IT. I understand him.
Can't a girl equally love chocolate and vanilla ice cream?

When I understood Face, that's when I fell for him, too.

I agree, understanding Face is really the key to falling for him. Everything else is the proverbial cherry on top of the ice cream sundae. He's always been my favorite, since Children of Jamestown but the more I understood him, the more I fell for him.
I think the writers spent more time on Face's backstory too, which gave us lots of insight into his character and opportunities to see the angst/understand him better.

I'm just so *TORN*. I can't, I just can't choose a favorite in the Face vs Murdock debate. It just depends on my mood. Earlier it was Face. But I just watched DUKE OF WHISPERING PINES with Amyk and now it's Murdock - his facial expressions, how he teases B.A. - I LOVE THEM BOTH. There. I said it.
(I also love Hannibal. And B.A.)

I love them all. But I don't think that I'm "in love" with any of them now. They are like dear, sweet old friends.

I'm not IN love with a fictional character.
No.
I'm not.
And DENIAL isn't just a river, either!

I'm in love with a fictional character but not from THE A-TEAM!

Yes. I admit it. I'm in love with Mr. Monk! The complete opposite of Hannibal in many ways....yet, in some ways, he is so much like the members of the team. Loyal, stands for justice, always gets his man, etc. And generally has to show his bravery in some way. But also quirky and a social misfit....just like how Face explained the team members are without each other.

OH! I thought of something good about Frankie!
He helped Murdock save the team from the firing squad!
See, therefore, I can't totally hate him. He saved my boys. Murdock went in as the decoy, but it was up to Frankie. Although when Murdock asked him (on the boat) if he got the bullets switched and Frankie replied, "What's better - I think or I hope?" Murdock totally had an "I'm working with an idiot" look on his face.

Maybe that's why the guys put up with him too? Although he kinda got them in that mess in the first place so it was only right that he help get them out. I don't hate him per se, I hate that he took screen time away from our guys.
Now, Stockwell on the other hand...

And I think we love these guys precisely because they ARE fictional. Because we get to know them in a way we never could in real life; plus they have superpowers.

I don't know that I wish he died, but I DO wish we'd gotten a chance to see our guys turn the tables on him once and for all. In spectacular A-Team fashion. I even have a scenario for how they might have done it.
