I hope this hasn't been posted elsewhere...
who is everyone's favorite character and why? It's interesting because BA always got all the press, but most people I know seem to like one of the other three. I posted the question on my Facebook profile and the other 3 guys tied...
I have a hard time because I love everyone, but I still have to say Murdock. I mean, c'mon who doesn't want to act like that in public? LOL.

Long-time regulars on here know how fickle I am, but really my favorite character at this point in my life is Hannibal. For one thing, all the others are getting to be too young for me. Somehow they stay frozen in time and I just keep aging. But I have not caught up to Hannibal yet. I guess when I do, then maybe I'll have to choose between Bernie Green or George Nemchek as my favorite character. But, anyway, I do love Hannibal. Here are some reasons: 1) He stands for justice and for what is right even though he has been let down by the justice system of his own country. 2) He is sort of a combination of all the other team members. 3) He is handsome. 4) He is the leader but not the dictator of the team. 5) Nobody can play the Aquamaniac the way he can. 6) He is somewhat mysterious. 7) He seems somewhat fatherly towards the other team members but not in a condescending way. 8) He looks good in his everyday clothes as well as in a nice suit. 9) He can come up with such great one-liners at just the right moment. 10) I love his determination and seriousness when one of his team members is in trouble. 11) He is so cute when he is on the jazz with his big smile in the middle of a dangerous situation. 12) He hates oppression of innocent people. 13) That man is just so cool! I could come up with more, but that gives you a bit of an idea why I love Hannibal so much.

I love his wise cracks, and the way he usually humors Murdock, and his paternal side... He's really loveable. And those eyes!! My gods, sky blue, with a hint of mischief.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious who my choice is, but here's why:
1. Murdock is unfailingly loyal to his boys, even at the risk of his own life. That's what I love most about him. 2. He walks the line between sanity and insanity so well, whichever is needed at the moment. 3. He's disarmingly sweet-natured, but he can also "kick some rump" when he needs to. 4. He sees the good in everyone, even big angry mudsuckers. 5. How can you not love his various songs? 6. Ditto for all his voices and impersonations. 7. He's good-looking without being *too* good-looking. 8. Billy! 9. His mutual respect and understanding with Hannibal, his brotherly relationship with Face, and the love-hate relationship with B.A. 10. That twinkle in his eyes, like he's being naughty sometimes.
You'll note, Amy, that I did not mention his clothes at all. ;D

My favourite is of course - the sexy Faceman!
He's just so cool, gorgeous and adorable - he knows it, that's true, but for me that just adds to his charm! He's always there for the guys, and can talk his way out of any situation - and come up with whatever they need for "a plan to come together".
When I watched TAT back in the 80's, Dirk Benedict was my first teenage crush - and that seems to be staying with me forever!

Loyal, intelligent, funny, KIND, and sweet puppy dog brown eyes. <3

(accept BA. Sorry BA, no Mohawks for this gal.) Love Faceman too. I mean, there's the looks--woohooo! But there is so much more to him then that. I like how his cons seldom work the way he expects. I think he fails as many as he succeeds at...but he just keeps trying...and fudges his way through always. Also, he seems to have the worst luck of the group. If someone's going to get embarrassed, beat up, put in the front lines, it's Face. And he doesn't WANT to. That's also funny. He doesn't want to be in danger. He doesn't want to hang out in public with the guys--he's just forced to. LOL. So I love the vulnerability and timidity thrown in there with the charm and looks.

My second favorite is currently Face....here are reasons I also love him: 1) He has not found what he really is looking for, but he keeps looking (even in the wrong places lots of times) for what will really make him happy. 2) Although he may act like he is afraid and does not want to be in danger, he steps up to the plate every time. (I think he really would miss the danger if he were not on the team.) 3) He is gorgeously handsome. 4) He's an orphan. 5) He is loyal to the team and would, as Murdock once says, give you the shirt off his back (and then go out and scam another one for himself). 6) ......the 'Vette! ;D

I think Face longs to be accepted by society. He wants to be popular, a mover and shaker, and he can't be in his current situation, which makes him unhappy...BUT I have a feeling if he were suddenly pardoned, and chased all the superficial trappings he wants, he would find that that doesn't make him happy for long either. I seriously wrote a paper with psychological profiles of the characters in college! LOL. I'll have to dig it up. It was so fun! I remember I spent the longest time on Face. He was in the "Belonger" category, but I can't remember what that meant exactly.

Ok, there is no real doubt who my favorite is. I love Face, because...well, because he's Face. ;D I agree to all the points you have already listed, I hardly know what else to add - His whining is cute. And in the end he is always in the thick of it and he would never let his friends down. - He has some pretty good one-liners as well - I like it how the smooth conman and womanizer can switch to a no nonsense Green Beret in a wink of an eye. No matter how good he looks, he's still dangerous. - and I especially agree with celine about his vulnerability. That's what I probably love most about him. No matter how much I like Face though, Murdock is a close second. They are both lovable, only for different reasons. I love Murdock's good kind of craziness, his intelligence, his puppy dog eyes, Billy...sometimes I think that there is so much truth in his understanding of the world and the people that I wonder how crazy he really is. And this doesn't mean that I don't like Hannibal and BA; I definitely do, but you asked for our favorites

That reminds me of what Face tells Amanda about Murdock in WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE.

(Actually I saw a really interesting interview with Dirk. He said that Face was written to be smooth and he sort of threw in the hesitant timid streak, which i absolutely love in the character). He's a really good foil to Murdock too. Murdock, I think, is actually sane pretending to be crazy...I know they leave it up in the air, but I really do feel it's an act. He's just too SANE whenever he needs to be. I kind of wonder if he didn't originally have a post traumatic stress breakdown after the war, and then once he recovered, kept up the act so he could be the ace-in-the-hole for the A-Team, being he's the only one not wanted? He's a complex one, definitely.

Face is my favorite. Not only do his overall good looks make me weak in the knees, but I like the way he can look like a suave sophisticated man one minute, then like a worried and vulnerable kid the next. The background of being an orphan and then going off to war at such a young age is very interesting. And I liked how the "Only Church" episode added some depth and questions about the possible reasons for his womanizing. I love characters who have some psychological meat on their bones, even if a show like The A-Team really wasn't fashioned to be heavy on the soul searching. When they did though, thankfully there was enough reading between the lines to pull from. I think he's the character that changed the most over the course of the show...he started out like an impish kid, then went through a three piece suited phase, trying to fit in more on the outside. I think in Season Four, there was a kind of desperation that set in; he grew more uptight and twitchy, but then in Season Five, he seemed to relax again and be more comfortable with himself, even though he didn't like the Stockwell situation. That's all just the way I've seen it though in my own opinion, but I think there's definitely more there to love than just a pretty face. I also wanted to add that I've wondered if his obsession with looking "perfect" and acting "perfect" stems from the fact that he was never adopted. Maybe subconsciously he thinks that he wasn't a perfect kid, and that's why no body wanted to take him in. So he tries to be perfect in adulthood to be accepted. Luckily the Team loves him for himself, scars and all. He can try to play perfect around them, but he doesn't need to, and they see right through it anyway. *Just wanted to say too that I adore ALL the Team...Face just is the one I have a...um...fixation on. ;D
