Oh, I've never thought so deeply about that part of the breakout scene. I've always just thought it was kind of funny because Murdock is often just going on and on about things, but now I feel like a heel for thinking it was funny! You're right....they should pay attention to him....or even if they don't, they should not say that, especially not right in front of the patient.

I'm trying to pay more attention to what's going on in the background of scenes, so while Face was talking to the nurse, I was looking at Murdock. I wonder if Dwight decided to react that way, or if it came from the writer, or Director?

Yeah, I have seen his reaction before, kind of a reaction of dismay is how I would describe it. Because I know the shows so well, I can afford to watch other extraneous stuff beyond the primary people speaking. That's one reason I like to watch the same things over and over, as long as they are worth watching over and over.

My notes: B.A.'s boots!!!! Face is getting knocked around and doesn't even spill his coffee. My kind of guy. Murdock making noise at 5 a.m.? Face is too kind. With me he'd be dead by 5:03 (maybe 5:05; I'm slow in the morning).
So Murdock and Face are standing on top of this load of lumber on the truck while B.A. is swerving around, and not falling off?
- I didn't really understand the joke with the ham sandwiches at the end. Was it not Face's favourite?
Oh, good; it wasn't just me. I was like, "does he not like ham and we're supposed to know that? Is he secretly Jewish?" The only thing I could think was, ham is his favorite and someone else told her (in which case they probably should've shown that part, or at least she could've said so, but maybe it was in there and got cut?), and he was a bit confused or weirded out that she knew?

I always thought it was a joke that Face is "such a ham"??

I guess I never saw him that way... Murdock, sure, but Face is usually pretty serious, even if to us what he's doing seems silly.
I'm honestly thinking it's probably one of those things that either referred to something earlier that got cut, or it made sense to the writers and they thought we would "get" it, too.

I watched the episode "LOG JAM" last night from MACGYVER.
I don't recall watching it before, although I know I have. It's interesting to see how many episodes in different shows in the 1980s focused on a lot of the same things. The A-TEAM was more comedic, but both were good lessons on deforestation, etc.

I just watched TIMBER! I had not watched an episode of A-TEAM since September, so I really enjoyed this one tonight. While this one never seems to end up in my TOP TEN, it still is one that I don't have many, if any, complaints about. In some ways, it does feel like a re-presentation of WEST COAST TURNAROUND, with them having to get the product (in this case, logs instead of watermelons) to a buyer by a deadline (and why, in the case of the logs, I don't really know, since it is not like they are going to spoil). But there are enough unique things about it and I especially really like Samantha in this one. And the breakout scene at the VA is top-notch, too.

to a buyer by a deadline (and why, in the case of the logs, I don't really know, since it is not like they are going to spoil). Well, if you have a product you're selling, you need the money. Also, if the price is good right now, you don't want to wait until later when it might not be so good (which they kind of found out about in "West Coast"). Or, maybe they're already contracted with a buyer and have to deliver.

Even at the end, when Face has arranged for a buyer in LA, they still have to get the logs there within 48 hours. Maybe the buyer has other obligations they have to meet quickly.

Well, if I bought something and the person took their sweet time about delivering it, I wouldn't be happy...

I would assume this logging place is quite far from LA, and I don't suppose you can drive really fast with a load of logs on a truck. I wonder where they are supposed to be in this episode, i.e. where is "Groversville"? (I think that is the name of the nearest town?)

The buyer may be in L.A., but that doesn't mean the mill is... in fact, it's probably not.

Oh, I did not realize that. I assumed that they were taking the logs to L.A. at the end of the episode!

Mills could be in LA, but they would probably be too pricy, especially with land values. They probably ship from LA if they are going overseas, but are probably further north in California or further east.
