Oh, that's right.....I was thinking it was more of a hook or a claw. But it was a really heavy prosthetic arm, right? It seemed like it could have easily knocked out even BA!

I watched this one today. I have no recollection of it at all, so I may not have seen it for 35 years! I would have liked to have seen more of the doctor who sent for the team in the first place. He knew them from Vietnam, so we could have had them all talking about the war which would have given us some insight into what the team were like back then and what they went through. It would have been nice to have seen Hannibal and the others taking care of him, particularly as he saved BA's life in Vietnam and probably treated the rest of the team too - sort of returning the favour. There's another moment with Hannibal showing how much he really hates drugs in this episode, although as has already been discussed in this thread, the main baddie character was very underdeveloped. Perhaps the original script included a reference to why he had a prosthetic arm? Otherwise it was completely pointless, unless they thought just having it made him more menacing? The tank was fun (if a rather convenient find ) and it was nice that they didn't have to build it themselves for a change! I thought Murdock was great in this one! Rescuing the baby crocodile was cute and, like you've said before, his little speech about war was very poignant in an otherwise not-very-deep episode. He also flew the doctor back to get him to a hospital and then returned with a load of tank ammunition - where did he get it from? Did he organise and run a scam on his own?

I think they just thought the prosthetic arm made the bad guy more menacing.

I think they just thought the prosthetic arm made the bad guy more menacing. Or thought it was going to play on Saturday morning during the cartoons for some reason.

I always love the arguments between Murdock and B.A. , but iam now the only right? And I also love Hannibals costumes(they were great in this episode)... Do you guys remember when Decker thought the receptionist of the hotel in the beginning of that episode is Hannibal?

In my notes, I have something about B.A. saying "I made it, you eat it!" It's been too long for me to remember what "it" was, but that's such a great line. I also noted that Oh, I like B.A.'s hair today. His mohawk is super-fluffy and cute.
But I do love the way Murdock talks about war being hell and how "we" know about war and "we" know about hell. That part is very deep. (I recall that we discussed this previously on this forum, but the newer people probably have not seen that discussion.) Yes. I feel like this part is so sad, but absolutely perfect-- an acknowledgment that war sucks, and just one simple line that says so much, both about war and about Murdock. The girl is annoying, but most girls are on the show. In my notes I have Oh, come ON. This chick is all getting kidnapped and stuff and her hair still looks nice? I want it. She doesn't deserve her hair. She's a snitch. LOL. There's another moment with Hannibal showing how much he really hates drugs in this episode, Y'know, that makes me think-- with all of the "say no to drugs" stuff in the 80s, I can't believe B.A. (Mr. T) never decided to manage to go on some sort of "don't do drugs" rant for the kiddies at any point during the show... I think they just thought the prosthetic arm made the bad guy more menacing. Oh dear. I've read an article a while back about how problematic it is to give the bad guy a disability to make him scarier... (but, this was the 80s, so it's not surprising...)

I mainly just find the prosthetic arm in this episode laughable for some reason.

I just rewatched this one. That girl who rats out the team drives me crazy. All she seems to do is to make things hard. I guess she did at least really care about Dr. Fallone.
I wonder what happened to the bad guys at the end.....did the team let them just run off to wherever they came from? Did the islanders imprison them in what was remaining of the fortress?
And does anyone know what Murdock's shirt is in this episode?

I had the DVD still in my PS2 so I checked it for you. I cant find any evidence what they did to the bad guys, the end was a little weird if you ask me^^. Murdocks shirt had a heart with two birds it and it was writen on it something like "love...anim**** (you cant see more because of his jacket) I hope I was able to help.
