How many episodes started with that same clip of Stockwell's jet flying at sunset? I think 3 now That same clip was also used in at least one Rockford Files ep.

After reading a synopsis, I thought I would like this one less than I did. It bugs me less knowing it's such a strong Bond parody and that's why it is the way it is. But still, doesn't make Murdock look good... I mean, really, you leave your best friend out in the cold rain all night making him listen to you doing, well... and then you're all flippant about it the next morning... that is just not really in-character for Murdock; he would never do that to Face. Plus, we know Murdock's still involved with this Erica lady at this point. I can make it work if I consider it sort of an AU departure because they wanted to play with a Bond type storyline. {I've had an idea I keep meaning to write where Murdock's schtick is a whole Bond persona/obsession, but it's funny rather than serious like it is here.}) From my notes, randomly written down when I watched: "Oh, Murdock smirk is adorable." (It IS.)
“'I believe it's Rigoletto.' HAHAHAHAHA." Smart and snarky... be still, my heart.
"Right. Convenient sharks. (“Convenient Sharks” would be a great band name.) I love how gleeful Hannibal looks about the convenient sharks." I like any Murdock-centric episode, but I really don't like the idea of him being a playboy. For the first four seasons, I always thought of him as more respectful to women and not much of a player. He had girlfriends, which is fine, but I didn't see him bedding someone he didn't have any feelings for... In fact, she was the bad guy! That's like Face in BENEATH THE SURFACE. Maybe the kids' show was done before Season 4 was done. Yeah. I thought he played it well, but the womanizing rubbed me the wrong way... it's just not usually who Murdock is. I mean, he's the guy who adorably couldn't even tell a woman he liked her to her face {"Bounty"} and who totally fell flat on hitting on a woman (can't remember episode name... the one where Face thought he was getting a pardon and Murdock became "Hunkman" lol)-- though I felt like the latter was put on because he was never shown as being that awkward before-- and now suddenly he's getting with everyone in sight, smoothly... lol. {And also the guy who, I noted early in the series, managed to dance around even kissing a woman... that changed later, but it was a thing at first.} Hannibal says it had to be Murdock or Frankie as Ross. Why not BA? Can you imagine BA as Logan Ross? Now that would have been a fantastic episode! I would be happy with just seeing what happens when Hannibal suggests that, lol. I think Murdock has a wig line... I see a line about a half inch down from the hair... Hm. I thought he just had his bangs combed forward. Who looks the most handsome in a tux? BA by far. BA is simply beautiful in a tux. I'm always impressed by how well B.A. cleans up. Let's see... was it in "The Rabbit Who Ate Los Vegas" where he also wears a tux? He looks very sharp, despite the fact that his hair/beard don't seem like tux material. I would totally take B.A. to the prom, lol. Look at the little wee spy cam Frankie is using. Looks like it came out of a cereal box. Did any of this tech even exist in the 80s? Like, much of the tech they use in the whole show, I mean... The bathroom placard said WC Hommes. I know hommes means men. What does the WC stand for? "Water Closet." It's very European. Murdock said he didn't get any sleep last night. Oh, the things I could say and won't, lol. I like that BA felt uneasy about not being able to get to Murdock. I love, love all the parts where we see how much B.A. cares about that crazy fool. She can't bear to think of him in the arms of another woman, but she was seeing Charles and him. Nah. It was an act. She is fake, fake, fake to the core. (But hell, she's a helicopter pilot, which is pretty cool; I didn't see that one coming.)
I wonder to what extent he knew that, though. In the hotel room scene, he was playing her as much as she was playing him... and didn't pretend otherwise. However, the next parts almost make it sound like he thought she was actually on their side.

I never understand this episode. One more reason I don't like it.

I do understand it... but that doesn't mean I have to love it, lol. I mean, I "understand" it as a James Bond parody and as such it does okay. I don't "understand" it so well as an A-Team episode. Like I said, it works better for me to consider a one-off AU thing (it's not the only one; more on that later) and that it's not "really" Murdock, just a fun outside-of-canon jaunt. If it was Face or Frankie, or maybe even Hannibal (or some random non-Team character)... it would make more sense (IMO). I think Murdock does a good job playing the part, it just doesn't jive with what we've been shown about his character up to this point.

I understand about Murdock being a Bond parody, but I don't understand the plot. Like what was that assassination attempt about, who or what was Undertow, etc. It seems so convoluted and since I don't really like this episode, I guess I don't watch it intently enough to understand....

I've gotten lost with several of the plots, especially the ones where they feel the need to split it between two different issues/sets of bad guys...

Aside, but I've been reading the James Bond books lately. The adventure is fun, but damn, Bond makes our Murdock-- and Face at his worst put together with him-- look like a Cub Scout trying to tell another 6-year-old that he likes her. I wonder was Ian Fleming really so sexist (and, it turns out, racist; right now I'm on You Only Live Twice and OMG, it's a painful read), or was Bond a parody even to him?
(This is only the third or fourth book I've read so far, and the only Bond movies I've seen have been a couple of the ones with Daniel Craig, so I don't know if back-in-the-day movie Bond was this bad or not.)

The only Bond movie I ever saw (or at least that I remember seeing) was FOR YOUR EYES ONLY. I believe it was Roger Moore playing Bond in that one.
