I guess I wasn't sure about legalities - I mean, they probably would have all kind of regulations. At day cares, I doubt that older kids get to help with younger ones....in A-TEAM world, that would probably mean teaching the younger ones to make ashtrays!

I'm sure they're not technically tasked with it, but I'm guessing there's the occasional "Sally, can you round up the younger kids" or "Sally, can you keep Templeton out of trouble*" or "Sally, can you watch the little kids for a minute while I do this thing."
*You know this was probably a thing, lol. The only one I could see maybe *not* being a handful as a kid is B.A., because I think his mom would've put the fear of God into him. But I imagine Face was a scam artist even as a kid (and I bet he was one of those kids that most adults think is an angel but all the other kids know he's always the one doing stuff), Murdock was probably one of those kids always getting into things and doing stuff to make the other kids laugh, and Hannibal was probably one of those kids always being defiant and doing whatever he wanted regardless of what the adults said...

I like your thinking about each team member as a child, and your descriptions seem pretty spot on, although I suspect BA did get into fights. However, I want to think that when BA got into fights, it was because he was defending some kid who was being picked on or something like that. In that case, I think his mother would perhaps not really punish him because she seems like the type that would also do that to defend someone else.

Yeah, I kind of imagine B.A. might've been that kid who started going to the gym because either he or his friends got picked on? And then after a while the bullies stopped messing with him, though he maybe also defended the younger kids?

BA could have been picked on as a kid. If Debra knew his nickname was "Scooter," it's likely other kids did, and they may have made fun of that nickname, especially if they heard the cute little story of how he got it. (Kids can be mean about stuff like that, I imagine.) I could see them making fun of him and calling him "Scooter" while doing that. So maybe BA did learn to fight in order to defend himself or others if he was getting picked on.
