I didn't know Mr T has the initial T.C.B on his upper left arm! I guess I never paid attention to that. No, I have never had a tattoo (well, maybe one of those play ones that wash off) and never plan to get one. I think if I got a tattoo I would have to stop platelet donation for a period of time. I'm pretty much a monthly platelet donor. But they ask a question about if you have had a tattoo I think in the last three months. So I assume if I answered "yes," they would say I could not donate. FWIW-- I asked when I was in last, and she said no, it wouldn't be an issue.

Do they ask about it on your pre-donation questionnaire? Our place does. I gave platelets today. And some red blood cells.

I think so? I think that's what reminded me to ask her.
I donated a couple weeks ago (whichever day I said would be perfect in an earlier post; I got a slot after all). Platelets and plasma.

My small ones were only painful in the "irritated" way. The tattooing itself wasn't painful, just that my skin got sick of being messed with. Well that's enough for me to rule it out. :-D
