The bad guy was also the bad guy in SHOWDOWN! I didn't realize that. No, he was the client in SHOWDOWN! wasn't he? The guy who ran the wild west show?

I'm actually cheering for Decker in my mind. I love that we care about the 'bad guy'. Is it not just me who wants to like Decker? And what causes a shimmy? Probably bad suspension? Frame issues? Crane didn't bother to check the lumps under the blankets to see if it was indeed Murdock. You'd think they would. Also, that tv was so loud! It would bother the other patients. You would think so, but on this show, apparently people at the VA Hospital are there because they weren't intelligent enough to get jobs at a hospital that paid better... (Maybe there's soundproofing in the walls. Which would make sense in a mental hospital, actually... And let's face it, Murdock himself was loud. Whistling for his horse while they're trying to surreptitiously escape?)
Oh, Amy looks so cute in that yellow dress with the belt and cowboy boots! But... wearing a short dress to go kicking ass in, when you have no idea what sort of situations you might get into? Not exactly practical... not so sure on the hair cut though I'm still sure I *don't* like the haircut... Oh. Cringe. I hate the way Murdock is talking to Daniel Runningbear. I don't know how Indigenous relations is in the US, but in Canada, we're actively working towards reconciliation (I acknowledge we have a very long way to go). I actually feel uncomfortable with the appropriation and some of the language being used. As much as I love Murdock and all, he was always the worst with racially-insensitive comments and such. (Of course, here Daniel turns it right back on B.A., as well...) Is the 'Chickewa' nation something they made up for the episode? I'm doing Google searches and 'Chippewa' comes up but not the tribe Daniel Runningbear is talking about. They made up a lot of other things, down to actual countries, so it wouldn't surprise me. I mean, I guess it's a way to be able to write a scene/situation/character however you want without having to worry about inaccuracies with the actual place/culture/person... I don't understand why they are rounding up the wild horses and selling them for dog food. There's no other way to make money off of them? I'm sure the right horse trainers could 'break' them and they could be good for something other than killing. Maybe some of them. But maybe not all. And it's probably cheaper to round them up and send them off to a glue factory right away than to have to keep them, hire trainers, etc. Besides, the episode isn't going to tug at your heartstrings (or the team's) so much if all the horsies are only being sent off to nice new homes or something. What do chaps do? What protection do they offer? Keeps your pants from getting worn through, I believe. I'm looking chaps up on Google and it looks like they serve mostly a style purpose. They can shield Motorcycle riders from rain and cowboys from rain or brambles... But does this mean Hannibal just wore them for style?!?! I love it! Probably... Do you think Amy had stunt hands, too? Dwight confirmed that when there were close ups of hands, that they were not theirs. Does that include Amy? I would assume it also means Amy. Wouldn't it be hilarious if we could find out who portrayed all the actors' hands and learn from them about their experiences doing that?! And compare the actors' hands to the stunt hands to see if they look similar...

What did Daniel say that was racially insensitive to BA?
Also, Daniel showed how corny Murdock was by announcing that he caught the RANGE RIDER episodes on TV himself. And he showed that he and his people were not those stereotypes that Murdock was making them out to be with the "how" and all that. Daniel seemed mildly amused by the whole thing rather than offended. I would be curious to know how real native Americans would feel about this episode.

Some wild horses are sold, but they are not that easy to "break" and I think it would take a lot of patience for someone to actually want to train them. And there are so many of them that I don't think there is going to be a way to find lots of nice homes for all of them. Much easier and probably way more economical to just round them up and kill them or sell them for dog food, as cruel as that may sound. And also, as you wrote, that's the best way to tug at our heartstrings and get us to care about this mission so much!

I would be curious to know how real native Americans would feel about this episode When Daniel is trying to convince them to save the horses, he turns to B.A. and says something like, "Surely someone like you understands the importance of one's tribe" or something like that (implying that because he's black, he's supposed to have some sort of inborn"tribal" instinct or something. Despite the fact that we know B.A.'s family has been in the U.S. for at least a couple generations). And yeah, I was also sort of surprised about how easygoing he was about Murdock's comments... but even some of the stuff Murdock has said to B.A. makes me wonder how B.A. takes it so well.
Different times, for sure...

You don't just easily train up a fully-grown been-wild-all-its-life horse the way you would a young domesticated horse. From the little I know of it, for some (I'm not sure how many) it's simply impossible. And, there is probably a large enough domesticated-horse market that not many people will be looking for one that's been caught wild.
