Yesterday I saw a 'vette with the license plate "C FACE." I laughed again.
It's not something Face would drive, though-- it was too "blingy" for him (large gold rims, color-shifting paint job. Snazzy, but not very "Faceman-like").

The Illinois State Fair has a tent that had some photos of famous people from Illinois - one of the photos was of Mr T.

Or, for that matter, what he thinks of older ones. (I have one section where my OC's former boyfriend, who's an LAPD cop, finds out about the team accidentally and has to decide if he's going to turn them in. At one point he shows up in his vintage 'vette (I can't pick a favorite year, though it's definitely one of the Stingray-era models, I'm just not sure if second-gen mid-60s or that third-gen longer body style they went to in the late 60s to mid 70s) and Face's jaw drops, lol (and then he gets slightly jealous...). Mostly I just felt like writing Face goggling at a vintage Corvette... haha.

This might better belong in an off-topic section of the forum... but what other 80s action shows do you watch? In reading stuff about A-Team, I've seen so many people mention Airwolf that I feel the need to watch it... (luckily, the same friend who lent me his A-Team DVDs also has Airwolf...)
(I have no idea if I'll like it, but part of me feels I might end up writing some sort of brief Murdock/Airwolf crossover*... either that, or writing something where one of Murdock's shticks is him becoming obsessed with that show and wishing he was on it...
*This would not be any more dumb than the premise of the kidnapping in the "Wheel of Fortune" episode, or anything in S5 re: Stockwell...)

I thought it was interesting that it was GP who apologized, too, because from what I've read, it seems like he was one of the worst on that front. I would've loved more dirt on exactly what was going on... I've never been a Boy George/Culture Club fan either, but man, I did love him in this episode. When he kicked that door down, that was it-- I was his, man. He got so into it, which was what made it. I still think he should've been the Amy replacement rather than Frankie. (But, I know, it wouldn't have worked... hard to stay in the underground when you're running around with Boy George, lol*. He's a bit well-known and also a bit distinctive... I wonder how he and B.A. would've gotten on, lol. Murdock would've loved him. Face likely would've rolled his eyes a lot. *though I almost want some non-canon-type episode with Decker going after him, hahaha. Decker would spend the whole episode like, "...wtf.") From teh way Dirk and Dwight had been talking about George, I also had a feeling that he was a bit of a star, I find it very interesting that he was apologizing. And I wonder then who was arguing with whom, because I have in my memory that it was mostly Dwight or Dirk playing intermediary between Mr. T and George....oooh to be a fly on the wall...

I don't know that I've ever seen AIRWOLF but I think it is about a helicopter or involves a helicopter. If so, then it sounds like that would be a perfect crossover for Murdock, but I actually kind of like your idea of him being obsessed with that show. Isn't it also an SJC show? If so, then it would be funny if Murdock got to meet SJC and sort of "lobby" to try to get to be an extra on AIRWOLF or maybe a stunt helicopter flier.

I actually also considered writing a part where Hannibal through his "show business" connections gets Murdock a job being a pilot on one of the Airwolf episodes... (maybe because one of the regular pilots gets sick or something, dunno.) From what I've read, Mr. T became quite popular post-Rocky (and maybe before that-- I mean, what kid didn't think B.A./Mr. T was great?), and GP thought that was stealing *his* limelight... I don't know what role MT had in this, whether it went to his head and he was fanning the flames, or if he was an innocent party.

[/quote] From what I've read over the years I think its right to say that GP started the silliness with Mr T and I think it was partly about the fame issue. Also Mr T was initially paid more than GP. But Mr T had an ego himself and also participated in the petty tit for tats with GP. Neither of them come out of it looking great. It ultimately weakened the show.

Oh, those were both quite interesting. So funny about Mr T talking nonstop (if true), because on the show, especially by season 5, he seemed like he hardly had any lines!

First one-- if GP came and said that to me (the dog comment), I would've shrugged and said, "Okay," and gone over and licked his hand. "There you go." LOL Mr. T being crazy... interesting. I've never gotten that impression out of him with the little I've seen of him, though I'm not sure if I'd be surprised that he's opinionated and talks a lot! Gonna watch this one when I have time: www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-CsopsdkXs ("The Tumultuous History of The A-Team: The Fights, The Firings, The Cancellation")

A crossword clue from the most recent edition of the small local paper: "Mr. T and friends" 5 letters.

(I have no idea if I'll like it, but part of me feels I might end up writing some sort of brief Murdock/Airwolf crossover*...
Roughly three episodes into Airwolf and I've got it. Stringfellow Hawke is on a job for The Firm when Murdock and the team run into him somewhere. It's not too far-fetched to think he and Murdock (and maybe some of the other guys) might've known each other in Vietnam at some point. Murdock recognizes him and talks to him*, but notices he seems preoccupied, but Hawke won't talk about it (what's going on is that in the course of his job, Dominic is kidnapped). Then somehow the team finds out what's going on... I'm not sure he'd tell them (especially since he may not know who they are), but maybe something happens while they're with him that they find out-- bad guys contact him, or attack him and the team ends up in the thick of it, or something. He still doesn't want to explain**, but Hannibal tells him they can help and then tells him they're the A-Team. He's still slightly reluctant, but he's desperate enough (because the bad guys have Dominic), so they team up. Of course at some point Murdock gets to fly Airwolf (which is why I had to get rid of Dominic, but also something having happened to him is also why Hawke's desperate enough to work with the team). (I don't know how Archangel/The Firm would feel about this, though part of me would dearly love to write an Archangel/Stockwell pissing contest, but S5 isn't usually part of my universe. {poor Frankie})
*Hawke: "Last I heard, you were in a mental hospital. Guess you got out?" Murdock: "...Uh... yeah... I got out..."
**Murdock: "He's a man of few words." B.A.: "You oughta take a page out of his book, fool!"
(Airwolf trivia: Col. Decker is the narrator.)

The kid ended the commercial by taking off his hat and he had a mohawk and did a "Be There!" Mr. T impression. I hope to watch the rest when I have some time....
