In The Rookie, the bounty hunters were so polished and they were very similar to FBI agents or something like that. And in Burn Notice, it was very similar. I have never seen Dog the Bounty Hunter, but I've seen a photo of him. Unfortunately, I have to judge a book by its cover and assume he's not as polished as the ones on The Rookie and Burn Notice. Maybe bounty hunters have developed into more of a contemporary, metrosexual type of hero and in the past they were more rough around the edges.

I agree with Sidney re that I don't mind the same basic formula being repeated many times, although I do like a lot of episodes that stray from the formula. I think it is kind of neat how the writers could come up with so many different ways of having average, good people being terrorized by bad guys. And every single time Hannibal came up with a new crazy plan where he goes in through the front door.

I do enjoy the episode of BURN NOTICE where Fiona was a bounty hunter.

Although the same basic formula was used time and time again, for me I don't know that it ever really got old. I feel like the show came up with enough variations on the theme to keep me interested.
