this is an 8 for me - a very very good enjoyable episode. I love the beginning with trying to get BA on the plane. Love Murdock in sunglasses when they arrived in NYC. Love BA and Murdock on the garbage truck. Murdock is adorable in ear muffs. And Amy gets to blow something up and that makes her very happy I didn't like Nicky, the kid- he bugged me. Also there were two instances that I thought were out of character for Murdock. I want to see if those stood out to anyone else before I comment
so your turn .........

I agree about Micky... Murdock was adorable in the muffs... I think I might know one time Murdock was out of character ..was it when they were watching the feed from the repair shop and Instead of reacting and going to help he followed Face out of the room complaining about Hannibal? To me that seemed wrong. They all knew the plan and they know that plans go bad. I love the scene in the airport.. just seeing Murdock teasin BA giving him all the things that could go wrong in a flight, stuff he thinks about anytime he gets behind a stick. As much as he finds it amusing lol.

Yes that was one of the instances that bothered me - after Hannibal as the shop keep gets a broken rib and Murdock is basically yelling about "What's the point of surveillance ". And wondering why Hannibal didn't take them. Just seemed weird -out of the three , Murdock is usually the less likely to question Hannibal's plans. I get he was probably upset that Hannibal suffered a cracked rib and poor Face hurt his finger (lol). Still it didn't seem like Murdock to me.

Haven't watched this one yet for this week, but I will still comment. Do you think that maybe since this was still a pretty early episode, they were trying to play it as though Murdock was not always along on the missions and maybe didn't really know the team's methods of operating as well as the others?
Is another time Murdock seems out of character something to do with the lady who is attracted to him?
Nicky, Micky, or whatever his name is doesn't irritate me nearly as much as Joey from PROS AND CONS!

I'm watching this one now....is the other time you think Murdock seems out of character when he gets kind of upset with Hannibal about "one of those plans" and how when they use "one of those plans" somebody always gets mad at them?

I love Face's little rant about how he doesn't keep all this stuff in a coffee can in his backyard! And I always do wonder if that truck was supposed to just start right up on the first try or if it really didn't start right and if Dwight and T just ad-libbed the extra stuff in that scene.

I finished this one. I think I messed up on my season 1 rankings and forgot that this one was a season 1 episode or just missed it in my list of all rankings or something, because I do think this is a really good episode, but I don't think I included it in my top ten. Oh well. Anyway, I'm ranking this one a 7 on the Sidney scale.
Also, I do think it is a bit strange that Murdock seemed to sort of "steal" Tracey from Face, although Face didn't seem to care too much, as he had that dispatcher already in his sights apparently.

Yes Amyk , you got the second instance that seemed out of character for Murdock - the " those plans " scene. He was just whiny and makes a face when they all go out to see the garbage truck. To me , it just doesn't seem like Murdock. I'm glad it wasn't just me and those moments stuck out to others as well

I love when Face gets worked up like that! And I think the truck not starting on the first try was a mistake and Dwight and T just rolled with it. It's pretty funny !

You know what I liked. The way Hannibal’s heart seemed to grow every time the shop keepers told them they couldn't pay the team. Aaaaw I thought it strange that murdock acted so angry at Hannibal. I think it's supposed to be worry. Murdock seems to have a bad time from the start of the episode. Especially after BA would fly with a total stranger but not with Murdock. Then the surveillance doesn't work and Face saves the day. He might feel pushed aside. Even Amy was in charge of wiring the tnt.
Poor murdock! That barrel can't have helped much when the car hit it! Loved the ear muffs. Shooting a gun is deafening on its own. A small caliber hand gun produces a whopping 170 decibels. Like a jet taking off at arms length. Can you imagine the rounds hitting of the side.
Poor Hannibal’s ribs and poor Face's finger. Did he work every night during this mission?
I liked Dwight and T with the garbage truck. You can really see T trying to wrestle it into gear. Might have been a non synchronised gear box needing double clutching. You won't see those types today but in the 80's they might still have been around. Especially in older big trucks.

Maybe Hannibal was in a good mood about the payments after the last episode, when apparently they did get paid from the Las Vegas earnings....but I like to think he just has a big heart anyway.

Did anyone else notice Murdock appeared to have an issue with his shoe when they first arrive at the store owners and they all get out of the cab? Pretty sure that wasn't scripted , but maybe was? Wonder what the deal was ?

I never noticed anything about that, but do you think maybe it was supposed to then relate to Nicky's shoe shine box situation?

Something interesting about this one? Tracey is the only love interest of Murdock's that I'm actually jealous of.
Despite what people think, I'm not jealous of Kelly. I just think she's a terrible character. The whole notion of him falling head over heels for her is stupid. Jody Joy was fun, but not serious. She made him feel good about himself and then they both moved on. Erica and Dominique kind of never happened.
But Tracey.
I'm jealous of her.
They were a cute little thing.
She was a normal girl. They felt a normal attraction. They got to spend time together. And he really did look like he liked her.
I wonder why they broke up.

Long distance romance is tough, even without his chosen line of work.
