I really think that if Murdock was living in the VA, it would not be very feasible for him to carry on a romance. So I guess I've essentially doomed him to a romance-less life, since I moved him back into the VA after season 5....

I would like to propose that Murdock did not steal Tracey from Face but in fact Face tried to do it to Murdock. We really have no indication that Tracey and Face were together or that Tracey even had eyes for Face. All we see is Face flirting and putting his arm around Tracey but In my mind Tracey doesn't give the impression she likes Face. I think Face was doing what he always does and that's flirt with basically every young pretty girl that's around him. He can't help himself No , I think Tracey saw past Face's advances for what they were- shallow and meaningless. She liked Murdock and I think Face couldn't accept that a girl would go for Murdock over him which is why at the end he tried one last time to " woo" her. But Tracey was too smart for that That's my story and I'm sticking to it

In any case, it is not like Face was exactly heartbroken...he had the dispatcher waiting in the wings....

Did anyone else notice Murdock appeared to have an issue with his shoe when they first arrive at the store owners and they all get out of the cab? Pretty sure that wasn't scripted , but maybe was? Wonder what the deal was ? A little late reply on this post, but I read this, became curious and had a look. I think you are right about the shoe issue. To me it actually looks like he steps into something (dog poo? or maybe bubblegum?) right after he gets out of the car (because of that surprised/stumbling move he makes). When they cross the street he drags his feet a few times and then quickly swipes it off on the pavement before continuing walking. I'm gonna have a good chuckle if this is indeed some sort of blooper that nobody really noticed. Apparently it was good enough to be used in the finals.

Now I feel I must go back and watch this scene again soon, as I've never ever noticed that, even though I can't tell you how many times I've seen this episode!

Just watched this one properly. So what I noticed was -
Face says that he and Amy got there the day before - so in a very short space of time, he managed to rent a shop, get some TV sets from rubbish tips and junk shops, go to a gun fair where there were cops crawling the place (in plain clothes, no less!), make a phony taxi driver license and sign on at the taxi firm (and from the sounds of it, worked the night shift too), then he picks the guys up at the airport and then scams the bin lorry / garbage truck. No wonder he gets a bit stressed and shouts at Hannibal when Hannibal complains about there being "no garbage inside the garbage truck". Usually Face and Hannibal are pretty in tune with each other, so it seemed like Face dropped the ball a bit with not grasping what Hannibal wanted to DO with the bin lorry (and he dropped the ball a bit too at the end with losing Tracey to Murdock) - but I guess he was just mega busy and sleep-deprived. (Am writing this with horrible jet-lag, so I might be projecting on to Face a bit!).

Oh, you make some good points about what all Face had to do even prior to us seeing him in this episode!

Watched this with the family last night. I love most of the episodes that Frank Lupo writes. He did a great job of writing the interaction between Face and Hannibal about the "dirty garbage." I love when Face and Hannibal interact. It's so fun to see. I thought it funny that Tracey chose Murdock, but you could tell from the moment he started looking at the television that she preferred someone who could make her laugh. I love Amy not telling the team about maybe not being hired. My kids really liked this one. They thought the cab was a good idea for tailing people and loved the fight at the end. Although I love how all of those bullets did nothing to any of the cars. How did Murdock miss every car? Face and the dispatcher. Awww. A love story for the ages.

I don't think Face was too upset about losing Tracey to Murdock....he had the dispatcher in his sights.

Rewatched this one today. It was a good ep. It was interesting to see BA was prepared to try flying on a commercial flight, but of course Hannibal knew it wouldn't make any difference! Poor Face, he worked so hard to get everything Hannibal wanted, plus was he really working all night as a taxi driver too? I agree with some of your previous comments in this thread about Murdock being slightly off in places, it was odd, but I like that the girl chose him over Face at the end. (Although Face already seemed to have plans with another girl anyway!)

Just finished watching this one....I had actually started it about a week ago, but had trouble with not just one of my discs that has the episode on it, but also with the same disc from another Season 1 set of discs! Argh! So I had to order the entire season 1 yet again in order to have a fully functioning set of discs for season 1.
But anyway....overall, I enjoy this episode. One thing I don't really like is Face's apparently voiced-over line of "Hannibal, I know you love it when a plan comes together" or maybe it's "I know you love it when a plan comes together, Hannibal." It just seems so added into the episode.
