Sidneys Rating Scale - I go between giving this episode an 8 or a 9 so I'll give it an 8.5
I do really enjoy this episode but what brings it down a bit for me is Murdock being separated from the team until the very end and also not in it as much. And there is a lot of voice overs which I also do not like
but I love all the Murdock scenes - I love him singing , I love him in a flight suit , I love him and Amy together here, they had great chemistry. I love Penny and Sky King I think the totally obvious dummy on the motorcycle in the beginning is just so ridiculous that it's awesome. I wonder why they used a dummy? Was it because motorcycle stunts are more difficult with two people on a bike or did the show just not want to pay two stunt people ? I love how after landing in Borneo - the guys are worrying about being quiet so the guerillas won't hear them yet Amy is yelling her head off when she was stuck in the tree Love Murdock helping her down I think Amy looked stunning in the episode and I liked that she got to blow some things up I loved Hannibal's Face Palm when the cigarette failed to ignite the gasoline
your turn........

I have not watched this one yet for the week, but your question about the dummy was interesting...right...what were they thinking there? Since they so often don't even seem to put much (if any) effort into hiding the stunt doubles for the cast, do you think that this is all kind of a joke to them, like they don't really care if people say "hey, that dummy is so unrealistic"?? Could they even have purposely used something so unrealistic just for a laugh?

My first thought was it was done on purpose for a laugh - but then I thought, this is still the first season - at this point I feel like the writers and producers were taking the show seriously - they wanted the viewing audience to take it as a serious show. It wasn't until they were not getting the respect from the top executives that they decided to started poking fun at themselves and pushing the realistic envelope - like having more and more elaborate crashes with the occupants surviving without a scratch
But that is a good point - was the intent of the show to be a little tongue and cheek right from the beginning or did it evolve into that?

I loved Amy and Murdock. How he freed her from the harness etc. I didn't catch what he called himself before penny and sky king. He used radio alphabet but it was Kilo something something before Amy interrupted. Shouldn't that be Hotel Mike? Yes Amy yelling! Haha but they are very cute together. I didn't love the face palm Hannibal did when Face's cigarette went out. I mean come on! The guy is about to die and you face palm. Grrr Poor Face trying to cut the ropes on that grill. I liked how he looked worried.
I noticed something I noticed in the other episodes too. Only Dirk uses the rifle strap around his arm. He automatically wraps it around his left arm when he grabs a rifle. That's how you're supposed to use it. The rest just let it dangle like a clothes line. Even T and George. And they did serve in the military! They should know better. I read once that Dirk did hunt. I can't remember where. Using the strap like that gives stability to the arm holding the rifle for better aim.
Overall a nice episode.

I'm not sure if this picture is a good example of what you mean, but it's always nice to see a photo of Face looking reem!
I heard "Kilo Charlie to Oscar Merlin 1" in the conversation between Amy and Murdock (aka Penny and Sky King). I really rate this episode. Loved all the jibber-jabber between Hannibal/Face/BA, especially when they were debating whether or not they were going to take the plane. I even didn't mind Amy in this one as she interacted quite nicely with Murdock. And I love Hannibal looking for Face during the firefight at the end. You can see he's really concerned about him. Awww!

I never noticed the rifle strap either! Though I DO notice whenever he's wearing a holster-it seems like Face does that more than the others too in my opinion. And yes, Dirk, being from Montana, does hunt with rifles so maybe that's why you see the strap. He also fishes and is/was a licensed pilot. I agree about Amy and Murdock in this episode; they are cute together.
"And I love Hannibal looking for Face during the firefight at the end. You can see he's really concerned about him. Awww!" Yes, so do I, WeLuvFrankie!

You can see what I mean in the rabbit who ate las Vegas. When Face takes the shot through the window. He slings the strap around his arm for stability. This is good for aiming. He does it even when shooting from the waist.

I'm not sure. I wanted to find a Pic where he is actually properly taking aim, but I can't find any. Not from the waist but the shoulder. Maybe someone who can make screen caps on the board? My eye got drawn to it in the rabbit and I noticed ever since. It's an automatic gesture by dirk. If he is a hunter then it would make a lot of sense. It's difficult to stand and take aim. The weight of the rifle will make the arm waver and that makes it really hard to aim. In comparison Oh yes the shoulder holster.... hmmmmm nice And just for fun

Very nice! Which episodes are those from? I think I know the second one, but not the first. Vettegirl, Nancy's first picture of Face with the machine gun is from "Dishpan Man". It's just after the scene when Murdock has crashed his little plane and the bad guys are just about to kill him. The others guys come racing in and saved him in the nick of time. And the one with Face and Hannibal is from "Taxi Wars". And Nancy, that's a very good example of what you meant. Well spotted!

Thank you, We Luv Frankie! I knew the first one must be from Season 5 but couldn't place it. Probably because I barely watch Dishpan Man. The second one was a toss up between Taxicab Wars and Heavy Bread, so I was close! The others I can name pretty well if I'm not too busy staring at them.... Nancy, thanks again for the pics!

Yes, I think the one with Face and Hannibal in the tank is from "The Island". Not sure about the one with Hannibal on his own. Not very often we see him wearing that purple shirt! I think it might be from "The White Ballot"? And speaking of holster shots - well, Face looks absolutely drop-down dead gorgeous in this photo [swoon, swoon!]:

Oh my... Is it getting hot in here? Do you feel that too or is it just me? I was hoping that someone could get me a few screenshots from when Face aimed and shot out of that window in the rabbit. Sniper Face makes me feel tingly all over haha Still, weird that only Dirk does it, while Both T and George have had army training. If he is a hunter than that would make a lot of sense. Most of the shooting would be done standing up instead of leaning the barrel on something, making the sling far more necessary. I say let's start up a Face appreciation topic...
