Did your kids think Murdock in the wedding dress was funny? My oldest and youngest did, but my middle wasn't so sure. They did love him falling down and having to run after the catering van. The whole "I'm a bird, I'm a plane, I'm a choo choo train!" might have been their favorite part though. They laughed hysterically at that.

I could see kids running around saying that after watching that episode!

Rewatched this one today (I already watched it recently, but I'm doing a full rewatch now.) It's a classic, that scene with Murdock revealing he's not really the bride-to-be is very memorable probably because it appears in the opening credits, but because it's Murdock at his crazy best! BA throws a lot of insults at Murdock in this episode "The man's a nut!" In fact, BA gets a lot of good lines in this one - I love his snarky reply to Hannibal asking him about his broken brake line. There's also something hilarious about him bursting out of the wedding cake! I love it when they all have to sleep in the van. It's interesting how reluctant Face is to get married. Surely he knows the marriage will be annulled once it's all over, but he seems terrified of making the commitment, even for a few days.

I also always love that line about the broken brake line. BA usually doesn't get sarcastic lines it seems so it makes it even more special.

I just watched this one again. I was laughing so much during it. I even replayed the Murdock in the wedding dress part for my husband, who came in the room as that scene was about over.
A question: Does anyone know what Face and Hannibal were referring to about Jackie being in some "bathing in the fountain" scene? Was she in a movie where she had a bathing scene in a fountain? And why would they put that into this episode? Seems kind of odd to me. (This was back when they were meeting with Tracy, Jackie's friend.)
Also, why would Face have control of the Taylor Enterprises just because he was married to Jackie?? And did he really sign some document handing those over to Cal?
My husband said that the gasoline from the gas station would not work in that helicopter. I told him it does in the A-TEAM world.
This one is such a classic that all the plot holes don't matter to me. (Even the giant wedding cake is pretty goofy....how would they even cut a piece of cake from that thing if it was a real cake?!) It's just so much fun.

I felt like this was The first A-Team episode I saw when I was a kid?

It's just so much fun. I think they were trying to place her weren't they? I got the impression she had been a model at some point, Swimsuit edition of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED or something. I think the thought and maybe practice still in Texas was that the man got the community property when married. So Face would be the new owner. And while he signed it, I'm not sure it was legal, given his standing with the law, maybe a fake name, etc. I have always wondered, even as a kid, if the gas would work! It's a good episode overall.

I felt like this was The first A-Team episode I saw when I was a kid? I have strong memories of it from my childhood too. At least I definitely have memories of Murdock dressed in a wedding dress!
It is one of the classic eps of the show.

Just watched this again. It a fantastic ep, just like all of them in season 1. But I would also say that for me its my least favorite from the season. There are perhaps just too many plot holes for me in the middle section.
I think the wedding sequence is a delight. Pure A-Team. I watched carefully and it was definitely Dirk and Dwight that climbed the trellis. I wondered if the catering van was the same one from ONE MORE TIME. It looked like it to me; the inside is green and rusty.
Once they leave the wedding, I think the plot struggles with holes in the middle section of the ep. They keep going back to the big office more or less at will despite being hunted. Just how hard is it to take a cassette out of the player and shut the mechanism again? That said, there's still some great moments. Too many to list. I would highlight scene where Hannibal backs up Murdoch and a despairing BA whispers "oh, man".
Things pick up at the end of the ep. The helicopter chase is a highlight. Its a tad over-long but there are some great shots in scenic locations.
On the locations side, the wedding is filmed in the grounds of the big house that we also see in TAXI CAB WARS, ROAD GAMES and THE DOCTOR IS OUT.
I think that when the helicopter lands to refuel it does so at the Watkins' gas station from NICE PLACE TO VISIT - the one that the team knock down in the end. I am not kidding! I think that its actually the same building and location. The backgrounds check out in both eps as best as I can tell. Have a look next time you see them. I admit, however, that my theory is challenged by the fact that its not Harold Watkins who comes out to stand open-mouthed at the helicopter :-)

Yeah, this episode does have lots of plot holes, but I still really enjoy it. For me, the biggest plot hole is why can't the bride just refuse to marry the guy, once she is in front of all the witnesses? I always wish there were some deeper reason why she can't do that, like how they have a good reason for Rena to go along with the bad guy's demands in HOT STYLES.
And yes, Hannibal should easily be able to get that tape out of the desk, even if he had to create an additional distraction or something, the very first time.

I don't like the part when Murdock crashes the chopper. I'm sure he's a much more talented pilot than that and that he could have found a way to land a bit more safely. Maybe he knew they were not high enough to really get hurt and did it on purpose. However, I doubt he would purposely endanger his team... Oh, good point... I didn't think about that. I don't know....it does often seem that when Murdock flies, they crash, doesn't it? Of course, that may be because they have crummy planes that they scam! OTOH... they crash, but they crash safely! This is the worst anyone's ever been hurt (actually, I think this is the *only* time...). I just finished watching this one again. Doesn't the invitation say that "Mr. and Mrs. Taylor" invite people to the wedding of their daughter, Jackie? Isn't that weird if Mr. Taylor is dead? And also, if there is a Mrs. Taylor, surely Jackie could just tell her that she doesn't want to marry this man. In fact, I don't really ever find this plot even remotely possible, since there is no reason for Jackie to go through with the wedding. What's Cal going to do...kill her in front of all those witnesses? Of course, the enjoyment of the episode has nothing to do with a plausible plot, so I can forgive all the implausibility. However, as I think I've mentioned over and over, I still wish there were some kind of backstory going on where Cal was threatening to kill someone else if Jackie didn't marry him or something like that. I also really, really hate all the cheesy voiceovers in this episode! OTOH, there could be some sort of social pressure going on there, too... My youngest decided to be B.A. last night and jump out of the cake. This would be my luck... I'd have a bachelorette party or something, but end up with B.A. jumping out of the cake... (That could be another fun "ambush the bad guys" plot point, but probably not quite PG enough, though heaven knows there have been other surprisingly-risque moments on this show...) Also, why would Face have control of the Taylor Enterprises just because he was married to Jackie?? And did he really sign some document handing those over to Cal? I can't remember-- did he have control already by virtue of being married to her (in which case I guess, community property? No pre-nup, after all), or was it just that he would inherit it if anything happened to her? My husband said that the gasoline from the gas station would not work in that helicopter. I told him it does in the A-TEAM world. I was kind of wondering why a gas station had aviation fuel... (Even the giant wedding cake is pretty goofy....how would they even cut a piece of cake from that thing if it was a real cake?!) Maybe they wouldn't. I've heard of people saving money by having a small "fancy" (pricey) cake, which is then taken to the kitchen for cutting, where there are cheaper sheet cakes that comprise most of what's passed out to guests. I guess the episode implies that it's actually a real cake, but, it also wouldn't be surprising to me if it was a big fancy fake, with people actually eating from other cakes-- the "fancy" one could even have a small top tier of real cake for the whole cake-cutting ceremony bit.
