Maybe that's why they didn't invite Tawnia along on the next mission.

They couldn't hold it against her. That would be crappy of them. She wasn't a mercenary or an explosives expert or a green beret! If they held that against her, the fact that she didn't blow up both trucks, they set unreal expectations for her.
Maybe they wanted her to fail. Maybe that was their intentions all along. Maybe they hoped she'd quit being given a real job - that it would scare her and make her run for the hills. Or they could hold the fact that she failed against her as a reason why she couldn't play with them anymore in any substantial way. Sounds like a complicated Hannibal plan to me! (So therefore possible.)

I don't think they wanted her to fail. They never seemed to blame her for failing to blow up the other truck.

No. It was like they didn't expect her to do it. It really did just roll off their backs without much concern.

If she had blown up the truck, they wouldn't have needed to use the nitrous oxide, right? I think that they wanted to use it! So maybe they were glad she didn't succeed in blowing up the other truck.

If it fell, it could have so gone off! Right? I don't really know anything about guns. Nah, guns don't do that. Also can we take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness that is Reverend Taylor? Bartender: Reverend, I'm not gonna listen to anymore of your preachin'! [raises pool cue to attack] Rev. Taylor: [pulls a shotgun out of his suit] That's fine with me, 'cause I'm done sermonizing. Let us pray. [blows apart moonshine jugs] Badass.

Yes, he is pretty cool! I would like to attend his church! Plus, he is so sweet to be driving parishioners to their doctor appointments or whatever he was doing that he wasn't there when Tawnia and Stephanie got kidnapped.

Rewatched this one today. It had some good moments, but overall not one of my favourites. I really liked the scene where the team were approaching the the moonshine production place through the woods and they communicate with each other using only hand signals. I was disappointed, though, that after all that the plan fails because Tawnia and Stephanie get kidnapped - Hannibal really should have thought that might happen and made sure the girls were safe. It was good to see Tawnia making herself useful up until that point. It's really interesting to see how BA behaves with Stephanie, especially at the end. He's so shy! I think this was mentioned recently in another thread. Anyone else in that situation would have kissed her - and it looked like Stephanie wanted to - but instead he was barely able to bring himself to give her a hug. I wonder why he's so uncomfortable? Maybe it's because it doesn't go with his tough guy image? Maybe he's afraid of falling in love because he knows he can't have a real relationship while he's on the run? (That would be sad.)

I just think it is mainly that BA is shy around women that he likes. I think he would be like that even if he wasn't on the run.

I think you're right. It's a sweet side to him that we don't get to see very often. He has a lovely, gentle personality under all that snarling and aggression doesn't he.

Yes, and I think he's actually the team member I might get along best with!

Watched this with the family last night. The boys had no interest beyond the opening credits and a question about whether Murdock was okay after he was laying under the one truck. I liked this one better than I remember. John Amos is a great guest star and is very easy to believe as a preacher that has had it and decided to take matters into his own hands. To me, the daughter was forgettable and the scene at the end with B.A. was actually cringeworthy in my opinion. I think it could have been cute, but it felt a little overdone. I actually liked Tawnia in this one. She was excited to be brought along, did her part getting the gun in, and tried her best to get both trucks blown up. That wasn't really her fault since the guys got beat up too fast. Murdock was pretty normal and I didn't care for fruit bats or the dentist scene. It seemed like they wanted to give him something, but couldn't decide what to do. His one great line to me was when he told Hannibal that since today was Tuesday, that he believed Wednesday could come as early as tomorrow. Great line. I actually think there were some great lines in this one, including the grief Face got for running the silent film star's fan club, but moving it into the house instead of in the garage. And Face was great at the bar: "He's had the wrong answer to just about everything today." Hannibal was fun too. "But I'm a whole other stretch of road." I liked Drew. He was a decent bad guy and I liked him battling back with scripture to the preacher. He was also great in AMERICAN GRAFFITTI. Burt was a good bad guy too, but I prefer him in BREAKOUT! Again, much better than I remember overall. Too bad the boys weren't into it.

Do you think the boys don't quite understand what the whole moonshine thing was about?

Do you think the boys don't quite understand what the whole moonshine thing was about? They understood that people were dying from it and that it shouldn't happen. They just didn't seem to care about the bulk of the episode. I have noticed that has happened a lot more in Season 2 than it did in Season 1.

I like this episode but agree that its got flaws.
I love Stephanie because I think the actress gets it so right. I partly agree with HoudiniDerek that the epilogue scene with BA is too much on the nose; less would have been more. But for me, the actress just about holds it together somehow. I also like during the montage how she is freaked out by Murdock. She is thereby siding with BA on that one. Thanks to Amyk who made this point on another thread.
The guy who plays Burt, the late Steve Sandor, is possibly my A-Team favourite bad guy. He was clearly a physical threat, and was able to convey menace in every scene.
For anyone interested in locations, I noticed that the Reverend's place is the same building that would host the casino in the next episode (ITS A DESERT OUT THERE). "Calhoun's Bar" is also part of that building, around the back.
The final action sequence is disappointing for me. It mixes in footage from the battle in BAD TIME ON THE BORDER. Not necessarily a problem, but the tension gets lost too early by the time that Murdock props up his hat, apparently like John Wayne. By this point the team is not really in danger any more. The subsequent big set-piece explosion, therefore, is a bit pointless.
If anyone knows the John Wayne film that might have been referenced, I would love to know so that I can watch it!
Final thought - I think GP's onesie outfit didnt suit him at all and was the worst clothing choice that he wore during the entire run of the show...
