The one with the casino inside the truck. (Not to be confused with the episode titles of 'Trouble on Wheels' or 'Moving Targets' or 'Knights of the Road', all of which confused me because they all sound the same with the whole car/road similarity).
So I just watched this episode properly, and I loved it. Probably an 8 (excellent) on the Sidney Scale, I found it so funny and I'd definitely watch it again. The only thing that wasn't great was that the team wasn't all together for most of it, 'cause Face was undercover. I prefer it when the team are all together, doing their thing.
Anyway. In particular I loved:
The scene in the tuxedo shop - what are Murdock and Hannibal on??? Their characters were so camp and ridiculous. They looked like they were having so much fun.
Even the scene before - with Face on the phone to them and Hannibal and Murdock both listening - they seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely, especially when Face pretends that it's his mum he's speaking to. Murdock and Hannibal are on the jazz!
And the positive reinforcement riff was great too, I loved how BA was really amused by it for most of the episode.
So I think that's why I really liked it, the team all seemed to be having fun and in good moods (except maybe for Face, who did seem a bit stressed).
And of course, it's a Face-centric episode, so with Face being my favourite, I also liked seeing him go undercover, do some accents, do some scamming, teasing Meeks. He was on fire. Except for that last bit in the casino-truck where he calls for Murdock to help him fight a bad guy - it's like, "Come on Face, you've been doing great by yourself the whole episode! Why do you need Murdock's help at the very end?"
Also really liked it when Face pretends to be German when he has to scam the casino equipment - he was throwing out a lot of German words, and I especially liked the touch of him saying the account number in German before apologising and saying it in English - it reminded me of that scam he does when he deliberately gets his prison bus driving license to expire so he can show the guy his renewed license. Just an extra touch of credibility.
Except! - the numbers didn't really add up - in German he says the account number is "fünfhundertzwei und zwanzig", which is '502 and 20' I think, but then when he translates it into English, he says it's 51240. Oh well, I guess the girl didn't know, and probably the guy on the other end of the phone didn't know either.
Other very cool stuff:
I love that Hannibal rolls an 11 even when the loaded dice are taken away from him. He is just THAT awesome!
Loved BA saying "Everything go ok? No feedback, just nod," and Murdock nods. Funny to see Murdock reduced to silence! And so wrong.
Really liked Murdock trying to be like Face, scamming the helicopter, and then BA takes the direct approach.
The only thing I wondered at the end was that in the last scene (with Face and his back-to-normal-fluffy-hair-instead-of-greaseball-hair) was that Face seemed a bit subdued. He didn't try and make any moves on the daughter, and he didn't really say much. I was like, "hmmm, maybe he's just a bit tired from the case." I liked how Hannibal put his arm on him though - I'm probably reading too much into it, but I like to think of it as Hannibal noticing he was a bit quieter, and just reassuring him in a tactile way, which he seems to do a lot with Face.
Would love to hear what you guys think of this episode.
PS: Apologies that this review is a bit Face-centric. I guess I always watch episodes through a 'Face filter'.
