Oh man this was such a funny episode. Some brilliant bits! - So it seemed like it was Face and BA versus Murdock and Hannibal in this episode. I loved BA and Face giving each other looks and standing in solidarity with each other against the Irish madness of the other two. - Those Irish accents sure got annoying fast though!! (Although Murdock did a pretty decent Scottish accent when explaining the rules of Scotch to Face). - Speaking of that scene - I loved the idea of Face and Murdock hanging out whilst they wait for the bad guys, playing gin, talking about this mythical game of Scotch with its bat-crazy rules (and Hannibal looking on in amusement). But then when the bad guys show up, they're all guns and business. - The funeral scene - that was sooooo funny. I laughed out loud at the "graced our lives like an avocado salad" bit. LOVED how Face and BA keep wincing and making comments to each other on Murdock's speech. Also loved Murdock's "among those of us who appear to be at least cognisant of life" line - am gonna try and use that one day! Maybe when I'm chairing a meeting or something. But the part I loved most about the funeral scene was BA saying dead-pan to Face, "Hannibal never looked so good." Just goes to show that BA has a WICKED sense of humour! Really dry. I screencapped this scene from the funeral - I love their expressions as they listen to Murdock: - Really liked the musical numbers in this one - Face playing the keys as they set up the restaurant, Murdock playing the organ (what was the tune he was playing?) and the way he starts busting out a song about working on a dishline, apropos of nothing. (Didn't appreciate Murdock wiggling his bottom though when carrying the piano as Face played, I don't like it when he acts kind of feminine like that. Like when he's the blood lady in BLACK DAY AT BAD ROCK. Just feels wrong!). - Thought it was cool that Murdock was reading the plays of JM Barrie in the car. JM Barrie wrote Peter Pan, and I think that's counted as one of the plays. But not sure what that (or the other plays) have got to do with this episode... (Unless it's Murdock self-identifying with Peter Pan? I think HoudiniDerek mentioned on another thread about Murdock that he appeals to children cause he's like a boy who never grew up). Oh yeah, speaking of books - has there been a thread yet for an A-Team book club? We could note down all the books that the guys read in the series, and read them! - Also love that the A-Team are called "folk legends" on the radio. What a great ending! (Although I didn't really think Hannibal's last proverb made sense), but in any case, it was a really cool ending.

It's been a while since I saw this one, but I think the organ song is "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," a song about baseball, but played in a minor key, which is why it's so funny, too! Definitely not something you normally would hear played at a funeral. Yeah, Murdock conducting the funeral is definitely one of the funniest scenes of the series!

This one was on TV yesterday. My dad nearly choked laughing when Hannibal dived up from the coffin! He said, apart from Hannibal & Murdock in LEASE WITH AN OPTION TO DIE, that was the funniest thing he'd ever seen!
I really love this one. Hannibal & Murdock talking to each other with Irish accents was very good, don't know how they stood there, so close & didn't laugh! Face, "do you mind if I interrupt this farce"?! Ha. Yeah, Murdock's Scottish accent is very good, don't know how he does it. I laugh when Murdock does a little dance while they're setting up the restaurant. Then Face nearly whacks him with a pice of wood, but he ducks!
When Murdock suddenly bursts into song in front of the camera, he pauses for a moment, I think Dwight forgot the words for a couple of seconds there!
Only Murdock could conduct a funeral & make it more like a wedding!
I also like the radio calling them folk legends, it shows they're getting appreciated for what they're doing.
The only thing I don't quite get, is this episode starts very quick, they appear at Gino's restaurant & Theresa calls Hannibal by his name straight away, as if she knows them personally, but we don't know how they came to be hired. Does Gino know them, is he a friend of theirs? Or have they made contact with the A-Team & they've just skipped showing us that to get the story going straight away? We don't seem to find out. I actually thought I'd missed some of the start when I first saw it.

I think we are supposed to assume that they've been hired already by Gino, so I guess they just skipped the usual "meet the client" stuff.

I did wonder that. They just seemed very friendly, I thought maybe he was a past friend of theirs.

Not heard that song before, but yeah that's SO not appropriate for a funeral! Although at least he contextualised it by playing it in a minor key!

Hmm, maybe I should have shown my parents THIS episode instead!!

You know what I just realised about this episode - it was way ahead of its time because when they all check out the warehouse before they build the restaurant set, Face says something about it being "industrial chic". And that seems to be the way that coffee shops and music videos are going - the stripped back, light bulbs hanging from the ceiling look. Industrial chic. I have friends from Austin, Texas, and they would totally use that warehouse space MINUS the set for a coffee shop / church / hipster space.

Yeah, my dad loves things like that. When Hannibal popped up he said he could see it coming, but still thought it was hilarious! 😂

Face: Can I interrupt this farce? Hannibal: Sure, Face. The funeral scene is great from asking if they are with the bride and groom, to the music, to the eulogy, and all of it. A great scene with everyone, including Hannibal suddenly surprising the bad guy. Face is talented and I like him playing the piano, although I'm sure B.A. would have preferred him help move it instead of goofing around. A great episode overall. You should start a Book Review thread!

Hmmm maybe I will start a book thread, HoudiniDerek!
Amyk - yeah, the guy yelling in the casket was funny, and Murdock randomly pulling out a stethoscope and interpreting what he was saying. And Face humming all the while.

I would be pretty terrified if someone had me shut up in a casket while I was still alive!

Nathan Vincent is one of the bad guys who actually doesn't fit the cookie-cutter mold that many of them fall into, in my opinion. He does have some brains, although of course he uses his brains for evil. Jack is more of just a thug. I think Travis could have come up in the ranks and eventually taken over for Mr. Vincent. He seemed to be more in line with the way Mr. Vincent wanted things run.
This is such a great episode.
