Well, somewhere along the way I must have messed up with episode numbers because my entire rankings list only shows 94 episodes....but anyway, here we are at the finale. I know I'm in the minority, but I love this episode. Perhaps it is for sentimental reasons, but I give it a 10 on the Sidney scale. I always want to cheer when Hannibal tells Stockwell off. And I just love old people! Iris is a hoot. And the other time I want to cheer is when Face does the car jump. So glad they let him be the one driving at that point because I feel like he was a bit down this season, with Murdock stealing all his thunder with the women and always getting to be the one doing the things Face may have felt he was suited for. And I do really love the final scene with just the four guys. Only thing I regret is them not having Hannibal say "I love it when a plan comes together" in that final scene.

I liked this episode too, and thought it was a good way to end the series. I feel like the episode focused on the old people a little too much at times, though.
One thing I really like is how the action is entirely local despite what's at stake. Also, unless I'm misremembering, this episode takes place over the course of only a few hours, doesn't it? That was also pretty cool. Murdock using the laser to carve a hole in the wall of the KGB's headquarters and escape was pretty damn awesome... and he woos that scientist lady moments prior!
And yeah, the car jump. Everyone just stands there, in total disbelief at what they're seeing. Classic.
I'm surprised BA didn't lay a smackdown on Sarnoff, considering he was holding a child at gunpoint.
Hannibal definitely should've said "I love it when a plan comes together" as the last line of the series.

I'm not sure of the time frame of the episode, but it does seem to all sort of take place in one day. I agree that perhaps it focused a bit too much on the old people, rather than enough featuring of the team, even though I like the old people.

I've just rewatched this episode. I don't remember it at all from the first time round and I've deliberately never rewatched any Season 5 eps before now. I'm glad they had the opportunity to give the show some kind of ending, even if I don't think the episode itself was a classic. The final scene with the team talking about what they were going to do after they got their pardon was brilliant. I loved that they were all together talking about Hannibal's plan and Murdock being crazy just like the old (pre-Stockwell) days. Although I would have loved it if Hannibal had said "I love it when a plan comes together" at the end, BAs line "I'll get the van" was a very fitting end because it left us with the strong feeling that everything was going to carry on and they would continue doing what they did best - helping the good guys beat the bad guys.

I agree that a nice comment about the jazz or the plan coming together would have been a good way to end the series. I don't mind B.A. ending the series though with his line. It's a nice way for us to imagine that even if they did get pardoned, their lives would be kind of the same.
As for the plan line, I guess Murdock does call the Colonel out on it and Hannibal tells his plan rather than saying the line. I thought that was a neat twist to the idea, although I did miss the line.

I think we've discussed this before on here, but one theory about why Hannibal doesn't say "I love it when a plan comes together" here is because they are really just formulating a new plan for their lives, so it has yet to come together but we, the fans, can imagine that the new plan is just beginning. Or something like that.

It's a new plan and you kind of get that twinkle in Hannibal's eye when he is thinking something up and like all plans they are basically the same

Although the show was ending, the way it ended allowed us to believe the team would continue and I love that idea!

Thus giving fanfiction writers plenty of wide, open space to dream up new adventures, new plans, and new ways for the plan to come together for the team long into the future.

I rewatched this one again today, so now I only have one more ep to go on my complete series rewatch - although I do consider this episode to be the series finale, as it was obviously meant to be. It was fun to see BA and Frankie working together, but it was disappointing that Hannibal and Face spent most of the episode just sitting in a car - although it was kind of worth it just because of the jump! I do like the way they 'banter' with each other while they're waiting though. Murdock going undercover as the scientist reminded me a lot of his performance as Logan Ross in the previous episode - on both occasions he wasn't like Murdock at all. I know he was supposed to be playing a character, but even so it didn't seem like it was Murdock playing the character - if that makes sense? I liked the elderly people and although it was quite far fetched to think they were able to bring down some KGB spies, it was fun to watch. It might have been better if some of them had been reluctant, or scared to start with, but then the team were able to pursuade them to get involved - similar to the way they rally the troops in THE ROAD TO HOPE. I did like how the two old men wanted to join the team at the end too. The final scene with the team talking about what they're going to do after they get their pardons (and the suggestion that the pardons might be coming sooner than expected) is the best thing about this episode. It's good that they were able to give the show some kind of ending, even though it was obviously written in a hurry when it was cancelled, because so many shows just get cut short with no sense of conclusion at all.

I'm not sure I thought much, if at all, before about Murdock being undercover as a sort of suave character in both this and SPY....I think it would have been fun to see him and Face doing one final scam. Usually Murdock in those scams would be the somewhat goofy character while Face played it more straight, I think. Would have been nice to see that dynamic between the two of them for the series finale.
