Forum newbie saying 'Hello'!

Hello, everyone!  I hope this is the right place to post this.  I'm new to this forum, planning to be a regular contributor... if you'll have me.

I've always been a huge fan of the show (I'm old enough to be an original fan!), but I'm currently in the middle of a complete re-watch and it's reminded me just how much I love these characters!

I'm absolutely delighted to find there's an active fan community for The A-Team, even after all these years.

I really don't know how active the 'community' is. But there's a few people here that stick around for the long haul, and we welcome the ships that sail through every once in a while.

I have one piece of 'advice', if you call it that. Never worry about 'sorry if this has been been posted before'. We really don't mind. I always feel so bad for people new to message boards when they preface posts with that. I figure they've been bullied on another board so that's why they feel they have to say that whenever they post or ask a question, and that's really awful.

We've discussed the same topics so many times, that it would be grossly inappropriate to be upset if a new person posts something we've discussed before. Then we'd never have any new threads. Sometimes I've fricken posted something I've actually posted before! And if I find the old thread, I find it funny that my opinion sometimes is completely different.

Welcome, Eclipse139. Oh, yes, I second what Sidney wrote! I even copied and pasted some things just recently that I had written previously into a newer thread, perhaps with some minor editing. (It was some comments about some episodes and I was using previous comments to sort of support why I thought one episode was better than another or even what I liked about both episodes.)

I love re-hashing the same topics over and over and over.....if I didn't, I would have had to leave this forum years ago....but as of now, I'm on here 12 years and still counting....

Has it only been 12 years here for you? It has to be longer than that. I was on a couple of different forums before I came here. I outlasted each of them. They're gone and I'm still here.

Thank you for the warm welcome!  I have to admit I've been lurking around here for a couple of weeks and you all seem very friendly.  

I've been a regular contributor on a few forums (for other shows) for a number of years, but their popularity seems to be declining as everyone migrates to the social media platforms instead - I'm really not a big fan of Facebook and Twitter, I personally feel forums like this one create a much better environment for fans to gather and share their thoughts.

And thank you for the advice, Sidney - I'm sure I'll be posting about subjects you've already discussed before so I appreciate your kind words. I've seen how other forums can turn on people for that kind of thing!

Even when our members go quiet, there are a quality group that always drops in and posts. Amy and Sidney are two of them.

Yeah, I've been loyal to this place. I don't accept change very well, I think. I like to think of it as sincere loyalty - a beautiful thing. But it's probably compulsive behaviour.

We had a horrible spamming problem for a long time. Everyone left, EVERYONE, and at that time we had a dozen regular members. I stayed and chatted with the bots. I even outlasted the bots. I'm like a cockroach. I just won't go away.

Yeah, I found this forum in 2008, and I think it was Memorial Day weekend of that year, so I guess I just recently had my 12th anniversary on here!

I like the forums format, too. I'm not even registered on Facebook or Twitter, so if this forum every leaves the "worldwide internet" and goes to one of those formats, I probably will not follow. I like to come here at the end of my working day and just hang out on this forum for a little while. I don't do it every single day, especially during busier seasons, but nearly every day I think I come and at least check for new posts.

When I first joined, amyk, I noticed it was 2pm my time that you'd come on every day. So I used to aim for 2pm to visit to catch you on so we could trade posts.

Other than God, this forum has probably been the most unchanging part of my life over the past 12 years. It's "been with me" through many life changes, including living on a different continent, evacuating a country when a war started, having my gall bladder removed in yet a different country, the deaths of my father, my mother, and my brother-in-law (at different times), and even getting married. I've been here longer than I've been married to my husband.

That was probably about 9 or 10 p.m. my time back then, which would have been about when I was messing around on here.

I guess I'm addicted to this forum or something....maybe because I'm not on Facebook, Twitter, etc. So instead of having to take time daily to check any of those accounts, I come here and check the forum and see if there are any new posts!
