I don't remember much about it, but I know I used to love it. My mom would tell me stories about how I would love watching reruns as a kid.

Are they some kind of detectives? It looks like it must be a comedy if the tag line is: "Trust me. I know what I'm doing." Is that right?

He was a Dirty Harry-type cop. Reckless and shoot-happy. But he was comically so. Like Police Academy. He bumbles a lot. He LOVES his gun. He's assigned, as a partner, a woman cop who is the straight man to his craziness. It's hard to remember much because it was only on for a very short period. I did love it though. I was watching it on YouTube (the entire series is there), and it doesn't hold up at all.

I remember that show, from a loooong time ago. It was called "Mr Gun" in France.

Mr Gun! That's a great name for it! I don't think it ever did well so I'm surprised they showed it overseas.

It was on the very first private channel in France. You had to subscribe, and there were a few programs you could watch for free to attract people.Sledgehammer was one of them! I remember watching Murphy Brown too at the time.

I don't remember this at all. I assumed it wasn't shown in the UK, but apparently it was, so I guess it just passed me by. It looks like one of those shows that we tend to remember being better than they actually were.
