So I'm writing a new story arc in my story. The guys are headed to a rodeo in Utah. That's all I have so far. So I have been doing research about rodeos. I typed in 'TV shows with a mystery set in a rodeo' to get see what is out there, and the first thing that pops up is a Murder She Wrote starring Lance LeGault. He plays a Mountie (RCMP - Royal Canadian Mounted Police) investigating the murder with Jessica. Cool coincidence.
So in my story Face just broke Murdock out of the hospital and said they're headed to Utah. They're not flying, so they'll have the van. Care to help me brainstorm? What sort of Mom and Pop business will need their help? Who will be the bad guy and what will be their motive?

I'm thinking that they could have been contacted by someone that owns a ranch that is running dry. It could be a mix of the WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE and the RANGE RIDER ideas. A lot of people in rodeos are farmers/ranchers and they do the rodeo for fun. I know a lot of my family that do it have it happen this way. Maybe the bad guy is a smarmy banker?

Ha! You're good at this, HD. What does running dry on a ranch mean? They don't have a water source? Would the animals be at risk? I don't like that. That would be too sad.
Which one of the team will be riding a bull, you think? Or a bucking bronco? Probably Hannibal, eh? Can he last 8 seconds? Definitely. He did grow up in Montana (if you believe the story in the pilot). Bet he'd have experience.

Running dry can mean a lot of things, not just water. The crops are bad, money is tight, water is low, etc. You could have an evil banker that wants the farm and he caused a fire to the haybarn and now the farmers have to truck in hay to feed their stock. If they can't sell enough food or livestock before the note is due, the bank gets the farm. But one of their kids is a good bronc rider, but is too young to enter the competition, so they hire the A-Team to see if they can help with another plan. Hannibal finds out the shady deal of the banker, but it's all legal on his end, so Hannibal comes up with the idea of winning the rodeo contests and gambling against the banker. He just needs someone to ride. I think it would likely be Hannibal, but I would LOVE for it to be Face. Or maybe B.A. where the bronc looks at all the weight and decides to run away scared.
