Synopsis Be Somebody consists of many segments, with each delineated by a title caption at the bottom of the screen. These include:
Shyness - A young actress (Janice Kawaye) asserts herself by using her temper. Roots - Mr. T says "Ya can't know where you're going if ya don't know where you're from" and explains the symbolism of his gold chains. Anger - Mr. T tells children to use their anger, not lose it, but fails to fully employ this when a fly continues to bother him. Frustration - Throughout the video, Mr. T tries to play the cello, eventually succeeding. Styling - Mr. T encourages children to dress up and express themselves. Peer Pressure - A group of children on a dock take beer and cigarettes from the garbage, while nearby, Mr. T shakes his head and New Edition sings a song disdaining peer pressure. Recouping - When a child trips on the sidewalk, "Dr. T" shows how one can preserve their dignity after an "absoludicrous" mistake by playing it off as a breakdancing move. Creating - A group of children breakdancing and encourage Mr. T to try some moves. Treat Your Mother Right - Mr. T raps "Treat Your Mother Right", a segment that was widely posted on the Internet in 2005 and 2006. Workout - Mr. T encourages lazy children at a bus stop to use a boombox as a free weight and balance a bag of popcorn on their heads. I Am Somebody - Mr. T raps "I Am Somebody", as well as offering a few guidelines of rap. Friendship - Mr. T gives his definition of "friendship", while a girl sings a song about it. Mr. T's Tale - Mr. T tells his version of Romeo and Juliet and gives a pro-reading message. Daydreaming - Mr. T explains how having dreams and goals contributes to success.

I've only watched the first 10 minutes, but I think I've seen this before. Love the bit with the cello!
Yeah, this show is cheesy....but it's a good kind of cheesy. I love Mr. T!

Okay, I do have to say that I totally love the "Treat Your Mother Right" song. Probably my favorite thing that Mr T ever did outside of THE A-TEAM!
Also, when I was watching the part with the kids outside break-dancing, it made me so happy thinking of "the good old days" when kids were not glued to their computers or phones but were actually outside being active. I never understand how that break-dancing works, like how do they keep spinning around?

I liked seeing that Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas was in the video as a little girl. That was cool. She wasn't featured or anything and I never would have recognized her if I didn't read about it online.

I don't know who she is! I also don't remember this musical group "New Edition" or whatever their name is.

I was watching more of this tonight, and I just love this special! I want Mr T to be my workout coach. Maybe I would actually be motivated to exercise if he were encouraging me like he did with those kids. And he was so cute on the swings, going down the slide, and jumping into the ocean (with clothes on!). Also....it would be nice to have one of those A Team caps like he was wearing.
(Edited because I had written "those kinds" and I meant "those kids"!)

I decided some time ago that I absolutely want to go to the gym with Mr. T. I feel like he'd kick my arse when I slack off, but be really supportive when I'm having a bad lifting day and am discouraged. (And now I need to watch this, because Mr. T. playing the cello is not to be missed...)

Mr T and the cello portions are an example of him doing comedy, and I think he's funny!

I watched this part tonight. I think Mr T is a pretty good rapper! And I loved his message.

From what I've seen of Mr. T, I think I like him as a person. (Of course, I don't know much about him, so there may be some unsavory things I don't know about. But he always seemed like he was about trying to be positive, especially for kids, etc. I mean, B.A. spends the entire show obsessed with milk-- surely so parents could point at him and say, "See, B.A./Mr. T drinks his milk!")
(and this is why I'm glad I never watched this as a kid. My mom TOTALLY would've tried that line on me. Of course, my reply would've been, "Great-- then he can have mine!" LOL)

From what I know, Mr T truly does love kids and wanted to be a positive role model for them. Although BA was not usually my most favorite character, I have reached a point where, if I were able to only meet one of the four main actors from the show, I would want to meet Mr. T (and yes, I know that GP is dead...). Mr T was a sweetheart when he was on DANCING WITH THE STARS.

I adore B.A.; he's my other favorite besides Murdock (though really I love them all). I usually describe him as "my spirit animal... except he's obviously better about going to the gym than I am."

Yeah, I love them all, too. I mainly love them all together. If I had to pick a favorite character, it may be Hannibal.
