I started watching 'Castle'. It stars Nathan Fillion as a mystery writer - he does cop novels. He hangs out with a female detective and helps her solve her cases and writes a new novel inspired by her. It's actually a really good show.
Well, Stephen J Cannell stars often as himself! Castle has a poker game with a bunch of other authors all the time, and SJC is there. I love it! How cool is that?
I thought this thread can be a collection of times when A-Team stars appeared 'as himself' in different shows.

If we are counting guest stars too, then Hulk Hogan appeared as himself in wrestling and on his reality show.

I was just watching another episode of 'Castle' and there's a poker game. (I think I'm in Season 4?) The new guy was going to sit down and they stopped him. They wouldn't let him sit in that seat because it was "Cannell's seat". (I'm guessing it took place after SJC's death.) they didn't want anyone sitting in his seat out of respect. It was kind of touching. They all had a little pause and the music was kind of sad.

I remember reading about that back when SJC passed away. And didn't they also end the episode with the signature paper flying up in the air? I don't know if you watched all the way to the end of the credits, but I thought maybe they did something like that in memory of SJC.

Reggie Jackson was in an episode of MACGYVER as himself. Obviously, the ball players in QUARTERBACK SNEAK were playing themselves for the most part and have done that on other shows too.

Shecky Greene had an "as himself" credit on the A-Team episode MEMBERS ONLY.

Not to forget legendary wrestling presenter "Mean" Gene Okerlund, who interviewed the Hulkster in BODY SLAM.
Regarding the original question, I understand that GP appeared as himself in two CHIPS episodes.
Stretching the topic, Dirk appeared as Face in an Amazing Stories ep in the 1980s.

Oh yes, I think the original question is not about who appeared on TAT "as himself" but rather which actors from TAT appeared on other shows "as himself." Mr. T appeared on SILVER SPOONS and also on DIFF'RENT STROKES "as himself." I don't think this counts, but he appeared on DANCING WITH THE STARS. (And for that matter, Dirk was on BIG BROTHER.) But I don't think reality shows probably count....

Stretching the topic, Dirk appeared as Face in an Amazing Stories ep in the 1980s. Do tell... It was a Steven Spielberg produced 1980s fantasy show that I think had different characters each week. In the Dirk ep, tv characters from popular 1980s shows emerge from a guy's tv physically into his living room. Lou Ferigno also appeared as the hulk. According to imdb the ep is "Remote Control Man". Dirk was clearly meant to be Face but i dont remember this ever being said explicitly. He kept referring to "the colonel". I found this clip youtu.be/ztA70ZyQxmE
