As you probably know both William Lucking and Lance LeGault both appear in the 1981 movie 'Stripes' as characters in the US Military.
My question is, for the person/people that did the casting for The A-Team - how much influence would the movie have been for them hiring them for the show?

I am not sure it would have had much to do with either.
Decker has played a bad guy and a military guy a lot, so there's a history there.
Lucking played a lot of different characters.
Might have been the agents, but I'm not sure the casting director thought much about the actor necessarily as whether or not they could do the role. I think they both did good jobs, however.

I didn't know they were both in STRIPES, and I don't recall ever seeing that movie. Did either of their characters in STRIPES resemble their characters as Decker and Lynch (besides just the military aspects)?

Decker's character was more on point with his role in The A-Team but more so because of his delivery as the person of authority. Lynch played a recruitment officer so it was more just the visual of him in the uniform than anything else.
