I can't take credit for this one. A fellow member, eliteonline, found this and posted it on the old forum. However, I thought it was worthy enough to be reposted. The Pardon

I love the Onion. The part that didn't make sense was that Frankie was never actually in the military, was he? So how could be held on dereliction of duty in Ft. Bragg?

He might have been at some point in the past, but more than likely, the Onion was not following the series closely enough to realize it...especially since Stockwell was in the military.

I really don't like Stockwell. Of all the directions the show could have gone, I wish it hadn't done the espionage tract.

I agree. Who the hell was Stockwell and how did he know so much? They made him this god-like figure overall and that really tanked. To me, the guys should always prevail and it did not seem like they did with him.

I did not like the Stockwell part of the series either. It seemed like the team capitulated to him. I felt like they were no longer under Hannibal's command, but really under Stockwell's. I think they should have ditched him and gone back to being fugitives. I really liked when they were on trial and all that, and I remember being really excited (way back when the show was first on) to see how they were going to get out of their execution, so I think it was a good scheme to actually put them on trial, but I just wish they had gotten out of it without Stockwell's involvement. However, there were still some episodes from the last season that I did like - namely, Family Reunion and the one where Face gets shot in the restaurant (I think it is Without Reservations).

You got the name right. I liked some of the episodes and characters, but it was very forced. I liked it when Hannibal and Stockwell would fight against each other...especially the episode where they are all out to find Hannibal. ;D

I hated Stockwell. grrrrr And no, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. I'm here. But sadly, due to a freak accident, the screen on my laptop is out, and so I won't be able to be online as much as I once was.

That's too bad. I liked Stockwell at times.

I cannot remember a time when I liked him, but I have not seen those episodes for a long time, so maybe I will find some redeeming quality in his character when I get to those.

I agree that the team seemed to cowtow to Stockwall once he was in the picture. The team wasn't the same after that. The beauty of the dynamics was that Hannibal was the 'brain.' He thought of their plans, and he was the patriarch, so to speak. Once Stockwell arrived, it seemed that Hannibal was obsolete.

I like to think that it was just all part of an elaborate plan that Hannibal had, and he was just waiting it out. If the series had lasted, maybe they could have gotten away from Stockwell's control. Since the show did not go on from season 5, I prefer my own season 6...the one where Stockwell is shown to be an enemy agent, the team discovers this fact (but Hannibal suspected it all along and was just waiting to get good evidence), Stockwell learns that they know about him and of course tries to kill them, but the team devises a great escape, and Decker, Lynch, and Briggs all show up at the end and find Stockwell tied up with a microfilm of evidence against him sitting on a table next to Stockwell and with a note from Hannibal alerting them to the microfilm's contents. Lynch, Decker, and Briggs take the credit for capturing this notorious enemy agent while the team rides off into the sunset, ready for more adventures as soldiers of fortune. Oh, yeah, in my season 6, Murdock's release from the VA is discovered to have been a huge mistake, as it was all plotted by Stockwell, and therefore Murdock is re-committed. And something nice can happen to Frankie, but he does not stay a part of the team - maybe he becomes a big movie director who occasionally casts Hannibal as the Aquamaniac and who occasionally supplies the team with movie props when needed.

Impressive. I was hoping for the pardon as the last episode of the movie.

I am not sure I would have liked it if they were pardoned...in a way I think I just prefer to think that they continued carrying on with their missions. But I guess there would come a time when even they would get too old for all that action. I think I would prefer that they all go out dying for a good cause - like they have to give the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the lives of a whole school full of orphans or something like that.
