I just remembered something I was going to comment on....about two weeks ago or so I re-watched one of my all-time favorite movies, THE MISSION. What I had forgotten, if I ever even realized it, was that Liam Neeson was in it. (He was one of the Jesuit priests.) I still cannot see him as Hannibal Smith, although he is a fine actor.

Maybe he's just being nice and saying that in order to be supportive of this new guy... Yes, I suspect that too Besides, he already got up against the female Starbuck. If he had said anything against Cooper now, it would have looked really bad for him, as if he couldn't accept it in general that his roles are getting played by others now I doubt that he cares much about that, but it would have caused another ruckus, I'm sure.

Okay, so I wasn't that bothered about The A Team movie. I saw the trailer when it first came out and was mildly interested but nothing more. Then I watched District 9. Good film. Then about two weeks later I read Empire magazine that had an interview with the director of TAT movie and I got more into it. I was happy when he said that at the centre of TAT story was 4 guys who loved one another (the real essence of TAT to me). I also was encouraged when I read that Murdocks character was still going to be crazy, just that you felt he could also kill you. (Although I did always feel that original Murdock would kill you to protect his boys). And finally, I realised that the actor from District 9 who I liked so much, was going to play Murock. Oh happy days. So I'm quite into it again now. Whether it's still the case after I've seen it is a different matter. But I do think even if I don't like it like I do the original I will like it. Sharto Copley all the way!

They just don't seem to make nearly enough shows like that anymore, about real friendship and loyalty and camraderie among same-sex characters (without any subtext, that is.) It's even better to me because "our guys" are such strong, red-blooded characters, but you never doubt for a minute that they love each other like brothers. Yeah, Murdock is certainly crazy, and I'm glad they're keeping him that way for the movie. But of the four of them, he's the one I'd least like to make angry if I were a bad guy.

You know what bothers me most about this, other than the glaringly obvious? Hannibal ALWAYS had a "plan B."

But sometimes it seemed like Hannibal really was just making up a plan as they went along. Remember that one time (I think in THE ISLAND?) when B.A. realized this?

ha, I think Hannibal actually had a Plan B - however he probably just made it up when Plan A went wrong ;D the movie poster does scare me a little!! But I will go watch the movie anyway but I am afraid that I will need therapy after that including a TAT marathon!!

Or else Hannibal went in "the back door." ;D The biggest problems I have with the poster? #1 Face seriously needs to shave. I mean, come on. #2 No cheesy posed smiles. I miss that.

I can sum up my problem with it in one word: "GRIT!"

I have actually been trying to lower my A-TEAM dosage lately, which is one reason I don't post as much. I will probably watch an episode here or there, but I am trying to distance myself before the movie is released. I want to try and give the movie a chance without trying to compare it too much to the series. It's not fair to it, but it will also make me more objective when reviewing it here. ;D No worries: I'm still around.

I'm pretty good at judging a movie by its own merits, even if it's a remake. So when I see this turd of a movie, burnt on a DVD sometime, I will easily be able to compare it to the series as well as a standalone movie. Here's a preview: Boy, did this movie suck.

You may eat those words one day Aquamaniac! What if it turns out you really like the movie a lot?!?!
Of course, I'm on your side on this thing so I'm not even planning to see the movie or to give it a chance! ;D

Of course, I'm on your side on this thing so I'm not even planning to see the movie or to give it a chance! ;D I'm so with you on this one. Maybe I'm not flexible enough, but with the changed premises it isn't the A-Team anymore. It's a film about some Iran war vets, who happen to be a team, maybe an A-Team and the film might even be funny and a good action flick. But it is not the A-Team and that makes all the difference to me, simply because the most important parts are missing: the original actors. Their chemistry made the A-Team special and I don't think that other actors can pull that off like George, Dwight, Dirk and Mr. T did. They should have called it something else
