Oh, thanks for letting me know that the clip is from OUT OF TOWNERS.
I am somewhat ambivalent these days about Kelly/Murdock, or pretty much any romance in TV characters. But I like to give Sidney a hard time about Kelly and Murdock. Actually, I thought they were a pretty cute couple, but I also think it is kind of weird that they seemed to fall in love or something within about 2 hours...

TELL ME ABOUT IT! SERIOUSLY!
And there's nothing to fall in love with!!
All it does is prove to me that Murdock sucks when it comes to 'falling in love'. He chooses basically a Facegirl. That's all she was. She was nothing more than the usual girl Face dates. Even Lesley and Rinna, as much as I hate them, had more character.
The one big love blast Murdock has, and it's with a needy girl with big, blue eyes. Yes. She was pretty. Yes, she was a vet and he loves animals. Yes, it was super cool she was his real life wife... But the character was just not worthy of Murdock. She really wasn't.

You know what I wish?
I wish that his wife would have pulled a Markie Post and came back as a different character in a different season to date him. And they could have done it right!
That's right. I would be all for the actress coming back and playing a love interest for Murdock. It's not her that I have a problem with. I have a problem with the construction of that character. It sucked.

She played a villain on the soap opera she was on. I really think she could have pulled it off.
Although having Murdock fall for a villain... Really fall for a villain would have been a great idea. It would have been an amazing idea. I mean, we are to infer he doesn't really 'love' Dominique despite what record players would like us to believe (he would not, could not, would never cheat and he would not, could not have a one night stand). But how great would it be if they had to take her down and turn her in and he had that inner conflict as he does it?

That would be like an episode of MONK where, after multiple episodes as his girlfriend and at the point where he was about to propose, the Captain of the SFPD had to arrest his own girlfriend for murder. And yes, she really was a murderer....and now we never know if she ever really loved him at all or was only planning to use him all along....

The look of disappointment he would have on his face! Sad Murdock.
I'm kind of in the mood to play Devil's Advocate with SPY and he would not, could not thing again, but I'll refrain.

It is a common story line, I think.... The falling in love with the villainess... And having to turn her in, but secretly releasing her... Secretly helping her... I bet Murdock would totally do that... And Hannibal and BA and Face would be all upset with him... But they would ultimately understand...

I always thought Murdock was a strong judge of character. He would see right through her wicked ways! But he is so adorable, she would probably fall in love with him anyway. You know, just like the villainesses do in the James Bond films.

He'd know she was evil, but he would still feel compassion for her... Maybe they share one of those heart-to-hearts where he finds out why she is the way she is and he wants to 'save' her... But ultimately she doesn't change and he has to turn her in.

He lets her go though... Right and wrong aren't black and white to our guys.

Yes and no. They can see what the right thing to do is a situation, but the way they get it done isn't by taking the moral high road.

Hmm... By definition, that means it's not black and white to them. If it was black and white, they would never commit any wrong. And they do. All the time. They just don't feel it's wrong because it's usually towards a bad guy.
