I'm really weird in that a tropical vacation does not really interest me at all. I think the only way I would be interested in it would depend on who I may vacation with. Vacationing by myself...nope, I would much rather stay home!

It's a funny math shirt ad for me again up above. And down below it's two forum ads for me... One for ProBoards.

I'm with the others. I don't get pop up ads or redirects, but the banner ads are usually related to my Amazon searches.

The top one right now for me is about Compassion International, to donate to them. The bottom two are: An ad for American Family Insurance and one for "LifeLock" (which apparently is something about identity theft).
So now this thread has turned into us reporting what ads we're seeing, which strangely I'm finding quite interesting!

Actually, me too.
Up above it's for smartphones from Telus. Below it's another Telus ad and one for Parkside, which I think is a hotel.

Well here is a first - the banner one and one below is for FinnAir and the second one is for AirFrance and both ads are not in English. I am not sure what that means - but the internet powers that be must think I am way smarter than I am that I can read foreign languages - I am assuming the AirFrance is in French and not sure about FinnAir. Also weird is that the only time I have flown internationally is once to Mexico City for a missions trip. it's not like I travel abroad - weird

None for me , but I think my pop up blocker is turned on. I do get them sometimes on other computers, but not redirects.

I just got one for weighthingychers. My feelings are a little hurt now. They're not pop ups, they're ads.

It happens here only once in a while too. Not very often, but enough times for me to wonder if there might be an infection.
This is how I understand it. PB makes money by displaying ads from google. Google makes money by making advertising companies pay to display their ads. Big companies can pay for good advertising companies. Smaller companies have to make due with small time advertising companies. These last ones often have older software running on their servers making them vulnerable to attacks from malware. This malware uses ad trackers to find out which ads are often displayed and attaches a redirect prompt to a innocent ad. Giving the browser the command to redirect to another ad via popup or redirect. You don't have to actually click on it for that to happen. This happens all without any human interference. The hacker releases these viruses on the web and waits until enough data has been collected. When he/she has found enough servers to misuse they will become active in stealing information from individual users. This can take months or years or may even not happen at all.
I see three ads about a bus ticket where you can travel to amusement parks for just 10 euro.

My banner at the top is something about getting quality internet. Down below something about looking for a deck pro and one about finding a local fence expert. I know why those came up, because I was searching for someone to come and paint my deck.
