Oh good point Sidney, I didn't think of that. If they dont have a record of a certain prisoner being there - then they can't trace it back to the prison when he winds up dead. That would also explain how they went from getting arrested to being sent to jail in one day. Makes sense. So the town Sherriff had to be in on it

I bet the Sheriff had money on it! Think he was there? At the end? In the crowd?

Hurray for Netflix on the iPad - no I don't see the Sherriff in the crowd but it's hard to make out all their faces. But it makes sense he would be in on it. He scouts out potential fighters and good prospects he green lights right to prison. He probably gets a cut from the gambling money.
And I did get to rewatch one of BA's great lines : "Hey he's not a mute anymore " " that's right - like you aren't a warden anymore "

I kind of doubt they want to run anyone's prints, but it would be the police, not the prison warden, to actually run prints, right? So I guess then that the police of the town are also in on this whole fight thing, too.

I think that the police and military were two separate entities so the police may not have had access to the army records. Or at least not in a town as small as this one. And let's face it. Computers weren't that fast and the Internet didn't exist haha. At least not as we know it today. The sheriff couldn't just Google the team. I think the sheriff was in on it yes. A modern day team would be caught in days with all the digital footprint they leave behind.

There probably was a corrupt judge in on it too - we just didnt see him. He'll be the one to sentence them to jail. It would complete the evil trifecta Corrupt Sheriff does the arresting, corrupt Judge does the sentencing and corrupt Warden takes care of the rest I hope they took down not only the warden but the other two as well. The warden is such a weasel, he probably ratted the other two out

In BREAKOUT, though, a small-town sheriff runs the prints and they identify Baracus as a member of the A-Team. I think, too, that this town's sheriff (in PROS AND CONS) is in on the whole scheme so that they never run the prints. You know, really the whole town practically has to be in on it. Otherwise, wouldn't the rest of the townspeople know what is going on and at least one of them report this "hunting" thing? So even though women are not at the fight, aren't they perhaps also partially responsible? Or do their men just tell them they are going off to play poker or something?

And in Bad Rock - that small town was also able to run the prints of Hannibal and Face and get an ID back the same day.
I would imagine the husbands are not telling their wives where or what they are doing - could you imagine finding out your husband was betting on fight to the death matches where the winner then gets hunted down and killed - so barbaric

You guys are really making me want to watch these episodes again! Someday soon... if I can only find the time.... This is one of my favorites too, a definite 10. Murdock's "trash bags!" alone make it priceless, but there's so much more. Murdock's "crazy" side eye looks when he's doing the ink blot tests are enough to make a girl swoon. Even a Face girl like me. I also think (opinions welcome) that Face's Dr. Pepper scam here is among his best. I love getting the glimpse into how he sets it up, and the way he changes course on the fly when the nurse busts him really shows us how good he is at his "job". Flawless scam, and pretty flawless episode too, with all the guys together as they should be.

Yes vettegirl - love to get your views on the episodes! Agreed that Dr. Pepper ( love the name and love Hannibal's line " Dr. Pepper? Are you kidding me?" ) is one of Face's best scams. Although I love Face and Murdock scamming together. The one scene with the nurse really showcases his talent of thinking on his feet. I love the icing on the cake was his line " well what's a Yankees promise worth anyway". And she says " nothin ". He sold it hook, line and sinker. "Yankees" sure got a bad rap in this episode

Which is pretty funny since none of them are what I'd call Yankees (though the prison folks of course don't know that) You've got the California boy, the Chicago inner city boy, the (presumed) Texas boy, and of course their fearless leader. Who, knowing Hannibal, could be from ANYWHERE....
Yes, I love when Face and Murdock scam together. Face and Hannibal too. They're so in synch/automatically play off each other so well.
I also like when their cases have personal meaning to them like we see here-friends/family, Vietnam vets, people they fought beside... It's nice seeing those glimpses into their backstory. I agree that Jace and Joey don't quite seem like brothers though. (And I remember Voyagers too!!)

I assume everyone here knows, right, that Dr. Pepper is none other than SJC himself? At least that's what I think!

I watched it a few weeks ago.
It's an elaborate and risky plan, and one of the more unlikely but not deus-ex-machina escapes. And the premise is one that would fit in the *dark* thread except they made no attempt to hide that. Not that they necessarily should have. If they had established the premise from Jase's view it would have either taken too long or they wouldn't really have gotten it across.
It's a good episode and I usually enjoy it but it's not among my best episodes, probably because it's too straightforward. It's what they were going for early in the run, I see that.
And now I realized how similar the premise of The Heart of Rock & Roll is. It's basically this episode season-4ed. I sort of like that one though.

So the ATeam powers that be want us to believe Jase ( and I apologize I think I called him Chase in another thread) made it all the way to LA from Florida with no money , ID or anything and that the cops followed him all the there. And then found his brother and was able to tail him to find Jase? I kindof of understand them wanting to catch him to stop him from telling what was going on in the prison but why take him all the way back to prison in Florida. Why not just kill him in LA and leave him? People would just assume he was a victim of random violence or something. If we stick with the belief that they hide the fact the prisoners in the fight program were ever even at the prison then there would be no connection between Jase and the prison. I just don't get why they dragged him all the way back to Florida
