I really like this episode - but here are two things that I buy me everytime - I can't stand Amy's dress and the part in the restaurant where BA takes the bread out of his mouth and throws it on the table - grosses me out every time. Two pretty petty things but there you have it
I also think there are some missed opportunities here - a chance to again delve into their past and give some more insight into their time in the POW camp - again I know it was not that kind of show - but I just can't help to look at what could have been and be sad that it wasnt.
Your thoughts?

I cheated again and watched this one last night instead of waiting until this actual week....I also give this one a 9. I took a point off because of BA's attitude towards that poor parking valet, who was only doing his job. It reminds me of how BA treats that man in the diner in THE WHITE BALLOT. I hate it when BA is so mean towards innocent people and prefer if he only acts like that towards the bad guys. I actually think the part where BA throws the bread on the table is funny.
I see your point about missed opportunities, but since the show was not really an arc-style of show, if they had tried to delve too deeply into the POW camp, then most likely it would have created deeper inconsistencies later.
I love the ending when Lin Duk Koo is so overwhelmed about his opportunity to stay in the USA and his gratitude towards the team....but love it even more that the team obviously knows that they are only in some small way paying Lin Duk Koo back and that they are the ones who owe him so much more. I also think it is cute how he put that in the fortune cookie, and I wonder if he put the same "fortune" into all the cookies he just made.
I also love so much all the Mr. Tony stuff and the silk jammies, as well as the running gag about the common areas.
Does anyone else think the voice of the telephone operator is the same voice as the lady who blows Face off in the car (when she complains about them messing up the common area of the parking garage)?

It's one of my favorites. It's a great episode. I love the density. The many locations. The bakery, the golf course. Everything feels like it's happening in real time.
Yeah, Mr. Tony and the common area are awesome! It's funny, and that type of joke plays very well today. And the final scene how Faceman and the team are really close to being in the real world, and how they poke fun at it.
Also how the viewer doesn't see the sourdough coming either.

Yeah, I doubt that I expected the weapons baked into the bread the first time I saw it.

I watched this one again last night. It has become one of my really favorites, and it seems that the more I watch it, the more I love it. Also, I now like to think that Murdock's golfball obsession is really a way that he is dealing with the post-traumatic stress from 'Nam. (I believe someone came up with that idea on this forum, but not sure now who it was.) That makes the episode even more poignant. I also wonder if Hannibal realizes that this is how Murdock is dealing with memories of 'Nam.
Besides the poignancy and drama of the episode (love all that stuff where Hannibal and B.A. really chew out Tommy Angel regarding how the rest of the prisoners were eating cockroaches and dying but Tommy Angel could have helped them and didn't), there is also a lot of great comedy in this one.
I think it has the right mix of about everything, and I'm changing my previous "Sidney scale" rating of it from a 9 to a 10!
I also love Lin Duk Koo and the emotional tag scene.
Other observations this time through: In the scene when they are outside of the restaurant (near the beginning), I think that you can see that the scene was not shot in one take. I believe that the cars which drive through the background as the camera angle changes are not the same as they should be if it was all filmed in one take. If someone else wants to watch this scene a few times and analyze the people and cars, etc. in the background, it would be nice to hear what they think.
Also, I'm not sure I've ever realized in the ending scene, just after Lin Duk Koo and Amy have left, Murdock and BA have some funny looks between them going on. It looks like Murdock is trying to make a goofy face at BA or something and BA is perturbed.

I know I am resurrecting an old thread. I did not read any rules about necroing a thread so if it is a violation I sincerely apologize.
One issue I had with the guns in the bread is that the bullets would go off in the oven! The guns were loaded so they must have been baked inside the dough fully loaded. Talk about dangerous!

I don't think there is any rule against resurrecting older threads, as long as they aren't locked, in which case I don't think you can reply to them anyway....but about the bullets baked into the guns....I had never thought about this before! Oh well, in the A-TEAM universe, I'm sure you can bake things like that into bread without worrying about them going off in the oven. Remember, too, how they baked those muffins in MISSION OF PEACE that had, I believe, dynamite? Would that also go off in the oven in real life?

Remember, too, how they baked those muffins in MISSION OF PEACE that had, I believe, dynamite? Would that also go off in the oven in real life? Dynamite contains nitroglycerin, which explodes at 218 Celsius (or 424 Farenheit). A quick Google search for muffin recipes brings up oven temperatures within that range, so yeah, it definitely would've gone off in real life.

That would have really made it awkward for the residents at Mister Tony's. And as long as the threads are open, you can reply.

Watched this last night. The boys were overly bored with it. Their biggest questions revolved around whether or not Amy was flying the helicopter during the final chase scene. They just didn't seem to care about the rest of it. I don't mind the Golfball Liberation Front, but it seemed somewhat shoehorned in. I think I prefer Murdock's obsessions to take place over the entire episode rather than mid-stream. Although he did a great job of talking to Amy at the end about coverage and I loved Hannibal tearing up and talking about a telethon! Not my favorite episode, but I do love some of the interactions, especially with B.A. and Face about the common areas. It's fun to see Face scamming on his personal time for a place to live. (I notice B.A. said he lived in a sleazy hotel. It looked more like an apartment to me at the end). I like the continuity too as Amy talks in the next episode about arguing about Face living there during THE ONLY CHURCH IN TOWN. I do wonder where the drugs were hidden in the van. My favorite scene is probably Hannibal laughing at B.A. chasing Lin Duk Koo out of the restaurant. Poor Face. I'm so mad at myself right now. There is a line Hannibal uses when talking to Lt. Angel at the grave site. I use it all the time. But of course, I can't remember it right now. Darn!

I really like this one. I love Lin Duk Koo and think it is so neat how the team helps him. And I love all the Mr. Toney stuff. I also like that we get some more connection of the team to the Vietnam War in this one.

Rewatched this one today, it's a great episode! I've seen it a few times. I love the idea that Face has scammed such a nice apartment, it's the start of his obsession with moving up in society circles (that kind of comes to a head in MEMBERS ONLY). The others don't help at all, with BA trashing the restaurant when he chases after Lin and Hannibal finding the whole thing so hilarious! I really love Hannibal listening so earnestly to Murdock and his golf ball obsession - he's not taking the mickey, he's doing it because it's what Murdock needs in that moment. Hannibal did that thing again we were talking about in the other thread where he tastes a tiny bit of heroin and immediately identifies it. Amy gets a lot of action again in this ep, chasing down the baddies with a gun, although she does end up just hitting the guy over the head with it instead of shooting him. And Murdock's ace flying skills stop the car escaping - although Amy looks so relaxed in the helicopter while it's swooping around, it's like she's on a pleasure flight!

Maybe Hannibal really does have a knack for identifying heroin!

I just watched this one again. Love pretty much everything about it, but I realized that I really don't understand the plot.....why did General Chou send Lin Duk Koo to the US when he really just wants Lin Duk Koo dead? Why didn't he kill Lin Duk Koo in Vietnam??
Also, does anyone else think the operator's voice at the penthouse building is the voice of the woman in the car who blows off Face?
