I watched this one tonight. I do love the 'meet the client' scene, with Clara Dickerson. She's funny. And I love how Hannibal was apparently driving Face's 'Vette up to 104 or 105 mph (unless he's just playing with Face). So did the hamburger have the sleeping drug, or was it actually the milk?
I like Nikki. She seems like a strong female character. At least she was trying to do something herself to find out what happened to her brother.
I think the team did not do so well at bugging the lighter. When Face handed it to Nikki, there were all those guys behind that could have seeing what he was doing.
Kind of an interesting plot, and a bit different. And I do like it how BA gets a bit of revenge at the end. I wonder if he really made them stay in jail for 2 days.
Still, not an episode that stands out as a great one for me. I give it a 7 on the Sidney scale.

I really really love this episode! It's one of my top 5 favourites. I like the plot, it is quite different. It's not often we see them in a different scenario than the usual A-Teaming. It's a 9 going on a 10 for me. They do sheriffs really well. Maybe they should've gone down this route a bit more in S5, not necessarily sheriffs, but changing it up a bit like they did in this episode, instead of changing the whole concept of who they helped and stuff.
It was really funny with Clara Dickerson, you just knew Hannibal was going to pop up somewhere! Although I was still surprised he was behind, dressed as a copper. Isn't she the same woman who played the doctor in the Trash bags episode? Pros & Cons.
When Face and Murdock entered the bar and Murdock sneezed, was that planned or couldn't he help really sneezing there? I only wonder, after he says "maybe we should do that entrance again". Unless it was just Murdock's way of saying they should go in again to make their presence known a bit more authority like. If it was a real sneeze I'm glad they kept it in. I do like little things like that.
Like you I wouldn't be surprised if Hannibal was winding Face up about the vette! And Murdock in the background, climbing the tree with his legs like kid always makes me chuckle. I like how Hannibal is never afraid of B.A, like the other two sometimes look to be. In this he just casually walks into the jail cell.
It's only a little thing, but I like how Murdock, Face & B.A shoot their guns in the air at the same time, in quite good unison. Makes them look proper powerful.
Plus, I think Murdock looks very handsome in his sheriff uniform in this episode. ☺️

Yes, that actress is the same one who was the psychiatrist (or whatever she was) in PROS AND CONS.
In this case, I agree with you that Murdock's sneeze seemed unplanned (or just kind of an odd thing to have written into the script). So while I usually don't think that many things are improvised, I do think here it is likely that Dwight just said that about doing that entrance again.
I love how even the background stuff is interesting to watch for in THE A-TEAM, like (as you mentioned) Murdock doing that thing with his legs. And I also like how Hannibal is never afraid of B.A.

Yeah, I think the sneeze was most probably an accident. If so, Dirk did well to think on his feet there and just carry on, by saying "Murdock" maybe as a signal to just carry on, which probably made Dwight carry on with the scene aswell. Good job everyone else in the scene followed suit!
The background stuff is good to watch, esp as sometimes you see Dirk and Dwight messing around. Or even Dwight and Mr T having a chuckle sometimes.
I guess Hannibal knows B.A would never harm any of them really.

So up to this on my re-watch. I like this one.
Nice bit of a change up. I think having a good actor like Robert Davi as the bad guy really adds to it.
The sneeze thing was weird. On a similar note i thought near the end when they escape the tunnel and Face is kissing the girl, Face barely gets on the jeep before they drive off

That reminds me of his kissing the girl and running to the jeep in CHILDREN OF JAMESTOWN.

Rewatched this one yesterday - another one I don't really remember much about. I really enjoyed it! It was fun to see the guys in that setting - I love Murdock and BA taking a patrol (and Murdock 'not' talking to himself is hilarious - that was a Dragnet reference, wasn't it?) I watched the sneeze twice and I agree it doesn't look like it was scripted (if it was, Dwight is excellent at faking a sneeze! ), but they did so well to carry on, especially as the scene continued uncut through to Murdock ordering and drinking the milk. And I know Face almost always gets to kiss the girl and he's never subtle about it, but it was a bit weird that he kisses Nikki, quite passionately, right in front of her brother! I love the classic burger/milk scam to get BA on a plane and I love that this time BA gets his revenge at the end of the episode.

I think I never can remember that this episode is one with a burger/milk scam....this is the one when they are all sitting around a picnic table, right?

So we finally popped in some A-TEAM last night. The older two boys asked us about it and we said we would love to. Then, no one wanted to watch it with us when we did. The opening scene is set up nicely with men talking about their families and working all of the time. It was weird though how Doyle didn't even pretend to care when there was an explosion. We know that he knew why, but still, appearances might have made the difference. The home office wasn't going to stay dumb forever. The Clara Dickerson scene really sets the tone well for the episode. She is great listening and nodding along and then falling to pieces when the chairman told her she had to go stop it. Does anyone notice how uncoordinated Hannibal looked driving the Vette? When he slid around the corner, it was so shaky and wobbly. Maybe that happens with a shimmy at 104, but still. Makes you wonder if that is why Hannibal doesn't drive often. The burger scene was great. It honestly would not have surprised me if the sleeping powder was in both the milk and the burger. Especially since we Murdock dispose of the burger and Hannibal smile happily at the milk. Face was right: He was doing so well too. B.A. crossing his fingers when being sworn in is hilarious, as is his disappointment that he can't beat the guys up. The initial scene knocking over the cantina is fun. I love Face clobbering a girl moment. Murdock and DRAGNET are great moments. This episode has a lot more of those moments than I thought. (I should note our littlest came in around the time of the cantina being knocked over and stayed interested through the end. My middle son walked in and asked what we were watching. When we told him THE A-TEAM, he shrugged and said that it didn't look like the A-Team). I agree with whoever mentioned that the whole ruse on getting the lighter was shoddy. Face clearly frisked him and he probably felt it being lifted. Then, with the whole crowd watching, Face handed it to her. We didn't see her slip it back, but you can tell it was awkward when she went up to him. I'm surprised they found the tracker though. B.A.'s workmanship is usually well above par. Running into the cave to see what was going on with no one guarding the outside was dumb. And the contraption they built seems like it would have taken hours. The bad guy could have taken the cave by then. And I'm not sure how one missile is going to take over the government. What if it misfires and whatnot? The takedown scene was blah. Nice call back to the pilot with people coming to help. Glass jaw on the rebel leader. One punch and done. I'm surprised Doyle didn't keep fighting. And it seems dangerous to blow up a missile with everyone standing around it. The tag scene was good. It was an awkward kiss for Face in my mind. Not so much for the brother...it just felt off. I love Hannibal just walking immediately into the cell, not even trying to reason with B.A. My wife asked if I think B.A. kept them there for two days. Yes, yes, I do. Overall, a pretty decent episode. It seems to surprise me every time I watch it.

I agree that Doyle should at least have pretended to be concerned about workers dying or being trapped in the cave.

This episode was GREAT, I dont need to tell you why because all the reasons were already mentioned...lol. AND there are so many great scenes I probably forgot some already.^^ I agree that Doyle should at least have pretended to be concerned about workers dying or being trapped in the cave. Yea thats true but someone who plans such a crazy attack is probably SO insane that he doesnt care at all about them.

My note: Right, they built a major rock-boring machine. Out of sheet metal. I'm sure. And what did they bore through that they hit sunlight? Wouldn't it have been easier to dig through the rocks that fell in the opening of the cave?So did the hamburger have the sleeping drug, or was it actually the milk? I assumed the milk, since Hannibal makes a point of handing it to him. The burger scene was great. It honestly would not have surprised me if the sleeping powder was in both the milk and the burger. That scene actually inspired me to write a bit in my story, which tends to be more of a collection of scenarios than an actual proper story, hence why this ends sort of abruptly (Elise-- who's a vegetarian-- is my OC. And if you catch that it was also slightly inspired by The Princess Bride, you get extra points): “I ain't eating this burger,” said B.A. suspiciously. “B.A., what are you on about?” “I know you, Hannibal. You drugged this burger.” “I didn't.” “You lie.” “Scout's honor.” Hannibal held up two fingers. “B.A., I did not drug that burger.” B.A. looked at it. “Whatever burger you gave me, I'm not eating.” He grabbed Face's burger and handed Face his. He started to unwrap it, but noticed they were all looking at him expectantly. “Wait a minute...” He looked around at them. “Why are you all looking at me like that? ...Oh, no. I ain't eating this one, either.” This time he traded with Hannibal, who gave his up willingly. B.A. narrowed his eyes at him. “Why did you let me have this one so easily?” He looked at them all again, then his face lit up. “Elise! You wouldn't expect me to grab hers 'cause hers don't have meat.” He grinned as he unwrapped it. “Now what am I going to eat?” Elise demanded angrily. “Why don't you pick the meat off that one?” B.A. pointed to the one he'd handed her. “That'll be the part that's drugged, anyway.” In three bites, her meatless sandwich was almost gone. B.A. grinned triumphant, snickering... and then his eyes rolled back in his head and he slumped across the table. “Sorry, B.A.,” Elise leaned over him and confessed to his still form. “Hannibal told the truth. I drugged it. ...Oh, and it was the mayo.” “To think, all that time it was your burger that was drugged...” Hannibal said in wonder. “Oh, they're all drugged,” she said airily. “That's why I told you all not to start on them.” She pulled a fresh bag out from under the table and prepared to hand them out, just as Murdock said, “Uh...” They all looked at him; he had a sheepish expression on his face. And then they noticed the bite taken from the burger he held. Elise closed her eyes. “Tell me he didn't.” “He did,” reported Hannibal, looking more closely at the burger in Murdock's hands. “Murdock!” “Well, you didn't say don't eat it because it was drugged! And I waited until he was out, like you said!” he defended himself. “It was just one... little... bite...” he said woozily as he propped his head on his hand, and then slumped all the way onto the table, his head on his arm. “Now what are we going to do??” Face asked. “It was only one bite,” Elise said. “Notice B.A. had to eat most of his-- well, mine. Hopefully he shouldn't be out too long.”
