...had been more an origin story using the original construct with the Team meeting in Vietnam, would you have liked it more? (Think the same mold as the 2009 movie version of STAR TREK.) I was leaning towards this idea all the way. Just because it's Vietnam-era doesn't mean it can't be relevant. Also, you would have gotten (likely) a group of unknowns instead of bigger names filling those iconic roles. It would have been left wide open for a sequel as well. The years between 1972-1982 are essentially a mystery for the Team. If they'd done that, this guy is a dead ringer for a younger Murdock. He is not an actor; he's a baseball player...oh, well...

I would've been a little happier, but overall, I liked what they did with the movie...minus the chick. Why was she there? :/

That baseball player looks just like a guy I know! I thought it was him, at first.

I cannot comment if I would have been happier, since I did not see the movie, but I believe I may have mentioned a long time ago in the movie thread that I thought something like this would have been a good idea....I would prefer that the characters be the same characters, and to me, characters not in their correct space/time continuum are not really the same characters, unless they have been thrust into an incorrect space/time continuum because they are in some sci-fi movie.
If the A-Team of the '80s ended up on the Enterprise in the future, for example, that would be something I would probably have to see....especially if Reg Barclay were also involved!

I haven't seen the movie yet (DVD is on pre-order though) but I currently have one main reason for wishing it had been based on Vietnam era - then there wouldn't be so much new fanfic mixing the two worlds! Sometimes it's annoying, most times it's just confusing.

I like how Amy won't watch the movie, but she would watch a musical with a different team.

Oh yeah.....but only if the team of the musical is set in the right era! I just think it would be so hilarious to see TAT somehow made into a musical.

But it would be even better if DS were in that musical using his lovely voice! (I don't know if his voice is still as lovely as when he sang in TAT, but I really think he was such a nice singer.) He could throw in a few Sinatra songs too, for good measure.

An A-Team musical might scare me... then again, they did Les Mis and that worked. So, who knows?

Celine, I don't know if you know, but there actually was an A-Team musical performed somewhere.....I cannot even remember which thread in this forum you may find out about it, but the idea has already been done....just not made into a movie. I wanted the guys who performed the musical for the movie, but nobody involved in making the movie asked me.
