I was very happy to see it. It's in Polish but I just needed to show you this. It contains mostly the facts everybody already knows, but it was new to me to read why Mr T. doesn't wear any jewelry now. www.popcorner.pl/popcorner/1,81588,5760702,Druzyna_A__wtedy_i_dzis.html

I cannot read it, but can guess what it says. Glad to know the A Team is alive and well in Poland! I wish they had gone on one of their adventures there.....maybe they yet will in season 6. If so, mizhowlinmad and I will probably need research assistance from you, mosame! I don't really know much (if anything) about Poland! You are the only Polish person I have ever had any contact with, I think. But if you are representative of all Poles, then I love Poland!

As I wrote, there is nothing new in this article, only some basic informations, so I think there is no need to translate it. However, I like this sentence: 'Maybe the whole idea wasn't very wise, and the script - not always interesting but... it was a pleasure to watch!' And Amy, I think you are exaggerating a little bit ;D, but it was nice what you wrote about Poland

Hey, it would be great to come to Poland some day....maybe you can coordinate an A Team convention there....no what is it...the Druzyna A convention! Even their name looks really cool in Polish! ;D

Amy, if you think their name looks so cool in Polish, I wonder how do you think it sounds? HERE you can listen to the introduction translated into Polish

Great! Now I know how to pronounce Druzyna A! (I'm not sure I spelled it right, though!) ;D

You spelled it perfectly. I think it would be necessary to change your keyboard settings so that you would be able to write the Polish letters like 'ż' in Drużyna A, so don't worry about it And strictly speaking, now you know how to pronounce 'Drużynę A' which is the accusative case of this noun But it sounds similar.

So what's the nominative case? I like the little swirly thing that comes off your e, too!

OK. HERE is nominative, accusative and even dative (though there are even more cases in Polish ). I wrote it down for you so that you didn't get lost Police Officer: Drużyna A! Złapałem Drużynę A! Murdock: Drużyna A? Słyszałem o nich. Szukają ich w całym kraju. Chce Pan powiedzieć, że cały czas pracowałem u boku Drużyny A?! As for this 'little swirly thing' it is called 'ogonek' in Polish

I love it! And one of my favorite scenes, too. But now I have a question....so when you watch Druzyna A, do you have the English going on in the background and then the Polish dubbed on top of that?

I could, but I turn the Polish translation off. I love their voices and I love English. Besides, I really hate some obvious mistakes the translators make from time to time.

I'm sure translating a lot of this show would be extremely difficult. It would not be easy to get the right meaning along with humor and all the idioms that are used, etc. into another language. I think that is why I'm so surprised it is so popular in some other countries, like Holland (and apparently Poland too).

Not to mention the fact that they often speak in uniquely American dialect (in the cases of Murdock and B.A., especially), use slang, make pop culture references... Any ideas as to why TAT continues to be so popular in Europe? It almost reminds me of how HOGAN'S HEROES was inexplicably popular when I was living in Germany.

Oh, TAT is definitely not so popular here as it was (and apparently still is) in Holland, but there are some Polish fans who were happy to see it released on DVD.
And when I watched it thirteen years ago, I didn't have a chance to turn off this expressionless voice of the Polish translator. And I don't think that this translation was any better then than it is now, but I loved the show. So... I don't think I can answer this question. It's a mystery for me ;D Though now, I can't bear it when I don't hear their voices.

That 1984 appearance in Holland, from what I've seen, was like the Beatles landing in New York. Pretty wild! ;D When I don't hear the voices, I know it's going to be a very bad day indeed. Right, Billy?
