Absolutely AmyK - one of the best episodes of the series! I like your point about the plane losing control when the window and door blew out - I don't know anything about planes but I think after a while the air inside and outside the plane would equalize and it would be stable then - but I'm not sure - another concern is at that alititude there would be little oxygen - so unless the guys were wearing oxygen masks - I think that would have been a problem for them. In real life though - in the ATeam universe, its' not a problem

Yes, the A-Team universe is magical sometimes. Have you ever seen the Mythbusters episode they did about it? It was pretty awesome seeing what actually worked vs what didn't, and those guys are clearly fans of the show too. Nothing about Beast, but they take on Timber, and all those car chases where nobody gets hurt.

Yes that would be correct - in real life

Unless they are flying at a low altitude I believe.

Good point and they might have been if the bad guys were planning on jumping out

Finally got the opportunity to watch this episode and I'm writing this while watching it.'
I think they are worried about Murdock not being there because of casualties if they try to take over without a pilot standing by. They would need to change the plan, last minute. I like BA muttering... What am I, a doorman...? I like Face's doubts about the mission. Sometimes he seems to be the only voice of reason. Now if I were a new team member (like Amy) I would probably be swayed more by Face's leadership and worries, than Hannibal's. This is actually bad for the team cohesion... Poor poor Murdock. I think he's not even that worried about himself losing bed and board, but not be able to get busted out and flying anymore. If he's sane he will be on Lynch's radar and with his psychiatric past he will never regain his commercial licence. His wings would be forever clipped. I think this might actually show that he is sane after all.
At least Murdock actually knows how to fuel a plane haha. Face in a suit....dreamy sigh... I like Murdock getting a bit angry with BA. He's acting more sane than ever in this episode. I like the joking and Face worrying even more. I think he wants BA to come up with a plan to keep him from freezing again. Murdock can't take three armed guys on in a plane. I personally hate "You are my sunshine"! Loved Face not going to the bathroom because he went already hahaha Poor Murdock, that must have hurt a lot. I wonder what went through his head. He was very lucky he didn't get shot in the head.
Explosive decompression... Mythbusters covered that one. This is pure Hollywood. Face spends the most time with Murdock in the cockpit, didn't he pay attention!? I love how Murdock is so calm and he can find everything blindly. Poor thing keeps keeps on wincing and sweating. It must be horrifying for Murdock to do this blind. Not knowing if they will hit the runway too hard. Hannibal keeps letting go of the yoke. A tail or wing strike is a very present danger. It's a good thing he has combat experience as an officer.

What did Mythbusters say about explosive decompression? Would nothing really happen if someone shot a hole in the side of the plane?
If Hannibal wasn't there for some reason, do you think Face would even try to fly the plane? Would his survival instinct kick in and would he have been able to land it?
I'm pretty sure if it were just BA and Murdock, they would have more of a chance of landing that plane for Murdock to do it blind than to put BA at the controls!

Mythbusters put pressure on a plane hull that was going to be scrapped and fired stuff at it. They also tested breast implants hahaha A bullet through a window does not cause the window to blow out. The whole would cause a whistling sound like a bottleneck, not an explosive decompression vortex. They are in a plane, not in space.
A pilot dropping altitude is normal for a situation where cabin pressure is lost. People will not suffocate or something. The guys in the ep are going to jump I believe they put the auto pilot at a low altitude. Can't remember it right now. This may also be the cause the oxygen masks won't drop. The standard jumping altitude is 12.000 feet. They use open door planes for that and no oxygen masks.
I do think Face would take the pilot's seat, yes. Murdock might have to talk him into in though and he would keep whining all the way down. But that would be preferable to Hannibal just letting go of the yoke ever time the plane moves or shudders. Really annoying! BA and Murdock would die haha

I found on youtube Mythbusters - ATeam special episode - it was cool. They did the log cannon from Timber. - it did not work at all in real life. And the dynamite under the manhole from The Out of Towners and that one worked! When I started watching my husband gave me an incredulous look and said " You are watching Mythbustes?" But then when he heard it was an ATeam special episode - he was like " oh that makes more sense". Hehe

We love Muthbusters around here. I've seen the A-Team one, but back when they first did it. I need to juice up the iPad and watch it again.
And as for BEAST...
10/10 for me. Absolute perfection. PERFECTION. I mean, the highlight of the entire series for me is blind Murdock flying. Confident, in control, calm, being the leader he is capable of being.
It's sweet Murdockian Perfection.

I don't usually watch Mythbusters either, but was really fun seeing what they came up with for the A-Team.

As for Beast, yes an absolute 10. No question. As I've said before, it has absolutely everything I love about the A-Team, and I can practically quote it verbatim. There isn't a single scene I don't love, from Hannibal and Face, to B.A. and Murdock, and everything in between. But that cockpit scene, with Murdock flying blind.... SIGH It's almost enough to convert a Facegirl like me. Almost.

I absolutely agree .....a great episode. Murdock is brilliant in this one. I love the way he can control any type of air craft. He is so cool under pressure. And Hannibal too....he handled the plane well. Always so confident. Will watch this one again today.
