While this is not my favorite episode, I do enjoy it. I love the conversation between Face and Hannibal about the bad guys and Decker when they are riding their horses. Face's pretend optimism at first followed by the stark reality when Hannibal says that the bad guys will be waiting for them.

It is fantastic. Frank Lupo seemed to have some of the best ideas. You never really hear anything bad about this. It’s so different and unusual. It’s definitely in my top 5. My absolute favourite is Taxicab Wars. I just absolutely love it and never get tired of seeing it.

I also love that interaction between Face and Hannibal when they are riding the horses. I think deep down, Face knew the reality, but I think he was hoping Hannibal might convince him that the bad guys wouldn't be expecting them.

I watched this one yet again Sunday night. Has anyone else ever noticed cars on a highway in at least one of the train scenes? I also think that train may be the same train used in an episode of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE. Does anyone know where this episode's train scenes were filmed? This is the episode that I would probably most like to have a running commentary on from the Director or at least some of the actors.

Range Rider is one of my top 5 favorites from the series. It owes a huge debt to The Greatest American Hero episode Desperado, (also written by Lupo) that did NOT air until that series was in syndication not long after Range Rider aired on NBC. I think my favorite moment is when the guys are masking their faces before taking on Carter's thugs, and Face glances over at B.A. and says "they'll never recognize us" My guess the train scenes might have been filmed at the Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita, CA. The Western small town scenes, and Carter's hacienda(also seen in TGAH's Heaven Is In Your Genes) were located at the Sable Ranch also in Santa Clarita. Since time is money in TV production, it would make sense to stay in the same area if possible. Sadly most of the Sable Ranch was destroyed in a wildfire back in 2016.
The original first run NBC broadcast had the longest end credits of any A-Team episode, it clocks in at almost 5 minutes when the Universal & Cannell logos are counted in the mix. The repeat NBC broadcast had a shorter end credit sequence.

Watched this with the boys last night. Like all kids, they loved the horses the most. They thought the train stuff was fun and wanted to know what was in the grease. Other than that, most of it went over their heads. In the rewatching, I remember that this episode is easily in my top 10, if not my top 5. I love the Hannibal and Face scenes. I love Murdock as the Range Rider. The interaction between B.A. and Murdock about whether or not Ed was invisible. Some of the lines are just great too. Plus, Amy gets a love scene and we get the introduction of Colonel Decker. And probably my favorite Face solo scam. I love the whole producing bit and how Hannibal has never had a party like that. So much great stuff in this episode. The only thing I don't like, but I understand, is that they had the dates wrong and the information wrong on the flashbacks. I know it was because those were already filmed and people didn't have the ability to watch like we do. Do you ever notice when Face is running from Decker how he sticks his leg out for the dog to bite? But the dog doesn't at first. He looks down and has to get his leg closer for the dog.

Okay, I watched this one tonight.....love it, even though I've seen it quite a bit. I was thinking tonight about something that I'm not sure I ever thought about before....why, when they captured BA, Face, and Hannibal didn't Carter's men question Hannibal about the 4th man who was with him, since they knew there were four guys that they fought in the town fight? Also, in addition to my complaint in the post above, the other thing about that "flashback" scene which I hate is that they show Murdock as the pilot flying the team away when they were captured by the military (presumably from ONE MORE TIME) but of course Murdock didn't fly them then, because the State Department had the team flown to Borneo. That flashback scene was definitely HOLIDAY IN THE HILLS.

Yeah, that dog didn't seem to be doing his job at first!!

I've seen When You Comin Back Range Rider several times now but I'm still not in love with it..? Looking back at the episode the first thing that jumps out to me is the introduction to the characters Decker and Crane. Their moments are the best in this. There's a plothole that still irks me. Some of the acting didn't work imo. The pacing in spots seems uneven? I wished they had different actors playing the goons and the woman. In certain scenes reminded me of Season One's 'West Coast Turnaround. The episode could've been edited better, however id still take it over most of Season Five.
Rating: 6/10

Range Rider has some good moments but I did not love this one. With this episode in particular, I think this would've been better as just one episode. Curious how the editing and direction were to differ if that were the case? It has great atmosphere i'll give it that.

I have to admit that I think some of it felt tacked on. And in the syndicated episodes, they cut out a lot of the Decker part. So even thought it's still a two parter, a lot of of the fluff is cut.
