we went as a group to see the movie ( the group was my radio show) the cast only went to see if my head was gonna explode... Once I stopped correcting or explaining the difference from the series to the movie. For most of it I could get lost in the movie... But in my head I still wished that the movie happened back in the day so our guys were in it.

I'm okay with the actors not being in it. I just wish the characters were more like the characters that we love so much. I honestly think it would have done better in the theatre if they were a little more true to the characters. Don't get me wrong... I loved Sharlto Copely. I thought he did an amazing job. You could tell he loved the show in real life because he really did a good updated version of Murdock. It was the Hannibal and Face that didn't ring true and they are a BIG part of that movie.

I've never actually seen the film! My dad has seen it on TVs & said it's rubbish. I've seen ads for it & the trailer. From what I've heard it's nothing like the proper A Team. Although I think anybody else playing them I don't think I could see as the A Team. I heard Dwight said it was ok as a film, but it's not the A Team. I've seen Dwight & Dirk's cameos, Dirk's was good, when asked about some face cream & he says, "don't change it". Clever. People seemed more excited to see those 2 than they was the film itself!

But in my head I still wished that the movie happened back in the day so our guys were in it. They should do a filmor extended episode or something along those lines with Dwight, Dirk & Mr T in playing the original characters, 30 years on. Alright they're older, they're not exactly doddery though, but there's no reason with a decent storyline why it couldn't happen. It would be great! None of this reboot business with a woman playing Murdock & films with other actors playing them, it just doesn't work. Everyone just wants to see the original guys as the A Team, coz that's what they are. I think the 3 of them could do it. Look at the episode they did where Hannibal was only in about one scene,in Rio, the other 3 took over and it wasn't any less good. It could work fine with the 3 of them. Obviously Hannibal would have to be mentioned, he could've died and it could start with them visiting his grave or something. They could include flashbacks of the show, showing them in their younger days and them talking about the old days. Can't believe some producer or network hasn't thought about doing it. They did it with Dallas, alright it didn't quite workout, but it's worked with other tv shows and The A Team's different, everybody would love to see these guys back! And what they've been up to the last 30 years. Maybe I should pitch my idea! 😁

I don't think many reunion kind of shows ever live up to the original, so I personally don't want there to be a reunion show which is trying to make it an actual episode or TV movie, especially this many years out. I would love to just have a show where the actors and others who worked on the show would sit around reminiscing and where they would show clips from the series.

I have seen a few reunion shows and the one that did it the best in my mind: GET SMART. The GET SMART AGAIN movie did what it could years later, even though it was missing original characters due to death, but still put on a great performance. I think it shows how other series could do it effectively.

If they did it could lead to them doing some sort of episode or something. It would just be so great to see them playing the A Team again, esp after that daft film coming out, it just proved nobody can do it like the real guy's. I think it would do well though, there's so many A-Team fans around the World, I think there would be a buzz around it if something happened. I watched the new Dallas when it was re done lately, I really liked it, seeing Patrick Duffy & Larry Hagman on screen together was nice. I got cancelled after 2/3 series, but I think that was due to the writing, it seemed to lose it's way a bit towards the end. But with the A Team we have the 3 top guys & it could be great. But, a reminiscing show would be good also.

But without a good writer, even the 3 guys could not pull off a good episode. And of course SJC is no longer with us to write a great episode. If they got a new writer it's likely he/she would not capture the right flavor. I just think there's so much more that makes the team who they are than just the actors, and recapturing that chemistry this many years out and with some very key people deceased (especially GP and SJC) might be very difficult to do, if not impossible.

Myself, I think just having the 3 guys back on screen would pretty much be good enough, esp as Dwight & Dirk are good friends in real life too. Then, add in a decent story/script and 'voila'! I mean, they'd have to run it past the guys, obv they wouldn't do anything they didn't't think was much good. The episode where Hannibal's only in one or two scenes, just sat on a beach, the other 3 take the helm and it's no worse for it.

I actually do think that the episode you are referring to (WHEEL OF FORTUNE) is the worse for not really having Hannibal in it.
Is Frank Lupo still alive and/or still writing anything?

Really? I never think of it as being worse for him not being in it much. It's just another episode to me, that's a bit different with it being the 3 of them taking the lead. Same with the one where Face is only in 2 scenes. Maybe it's because they do actually show them, if only for a minute. I still sense them being part of it even though they're not in them episodes. Murdock might be missed if he was barely in one, his madness adds something different to it.
You know I'm not sure if Frank Lupo is till alive. I assume he is or we probably would have heard otherwise.

I really like BREAKOUT even though Face isn't in it (essentially), but I think it could be rank much higher in my rankings if Face were actually in it. So I do tend to "take off points" if all the team members are not really in the episode. I can't give an episode a 10 if it doesn't really have all the team members.

Yeah I agree, a 10 would need all 4 in it. In Breakout I think with B.A/Murdock taking centre stage with the story it doesn't miss Face quite as much as it ,might have done in a different episode. When B.A and Murdock are are together, having their little spats in any episode they can really kinda light up a scene together. It was such a good idea whoever thought of it, to give these two the friendship they have. A bit like the A-Team itself, there's no other characters like them, not even these days. They're pretty unique.

I also love the way Hannibal protects the lady and her kid.....I find that rather attractive about him....kind of like what I believe my husband would do for me if necessary. (Sigh!) Although I'm quite independent and have taken care of myself for much of my life, I admit that I do find it rather nice to have a man finally looking out for me.
