I was thinking about the movie yesterday, I have no idea why. One thought led to another and then I found myself feeling sad about how it bombed and I was trying to think of ways it could have been saved. I agree with a lot of people, including Dwight, that making Bradley Cooper's Face the star was a big problem. The team should have all been equally important. I also think there wasn't enough war story, to be honest. The movie doesn't even have BA and Hannibal meeting at war! They met via chance meeting in Mexico? That was weird. I would have like to have seen more special forces work. If not that, then what they should have done is focused on them as soldiers of fortune in LA right now, and have the origin part of it flashbacks.

I only saw the movie once and honestly did not hate it as much as some - I thought it was ok as a stand alone movie but when you start to compare it to the show - that's when it falls way short for me. What made the show great was the chemistry between the guys - you felt it. That was not there in the movie. Also with Face becoming the "star" again the show worked because each guy had their role and strengths and they all worked together. Yes, Hannibal was the CO but he could never have pulled of his jazz without the other three.

Yes, on the show they were a team in the truest sense of the word. I've always loved when Hannibal tells a defeated Dougie Kyle as much at the end of Deadly Maneuvers. And when Decker makes a similar analogy during Curtain Call.

I love the movie and I'll watch it again. It's just not as good as what I would have done had I been queen of the world at the time it was produced.
They also swear a lot in the movie. That hurts my sensitivities. I don't like swearing.
But they had a goldmine with the Murdock they selected. They should have used him more. All of the best moments of the movie were Murdock's. Trying to start the ambulance with the life paddles! Hahaha! Telling BA he shouldn't have parked there? HAHAHA!! He did a really good job.
The movie never explained how the colonel was able to get him out of the psychiatric hospital and join the Rangers at the beginning. And how they were able to keep him at war. He was 'crazy' and in a psych war before he joined their unit. Can someone legit crazy join the military and fly aircraft?

I did love movie Murdock and would have preferred to see much more of him. My favorite line was when he said " Hang On, everybody - I wanna try something I saw in a cartoon once!" LOL - I need to use that when I am driving with a bunch of people in the car

He really shines. And so does their BA. They did a really good job casting BA, I thought. Faceman and Hannibal to a lesser degree were the problems. But honestly, I think both would have been fine, if their characters weren't so skewed. Face should have been a scammer and girl crazy. Hannibal should have been the one infallible. I didn't like to see him fall in line for Face to save the day.

I didn't either, much as I normally love Bradley Cooper.

Well, at least I have now seen more of THE A-TEAM movie, and I even got to see portions of Dirk and Dwight's cameos.

Cinema Sins is funny - except for the swearing. This was great - I already saw the ATeam one but enjoyed watching it again

Yeah, I did not really appreciate the swearing, but at least they did sort of dub it. And I also realize that they are trying to be funny, so I know this is a very skewed image of the movie. I have never seen it, so this is now my main image of the movie, and if I ever saw it now, I may have a hard time not just thinking of these things that they made fun of about it in this little clip.

It did make it a lot worse looking than it actually is. A lot that it talked about, I didn't notice or care about. And some things they criticized, I disagreed with. I mean, A Team is supposed to be bad/good shots, right? You can't criticize them not actually hitting anyone or for unbelievable escapes!!!
They did mention my biggest problem with the movie and that is how Hannibal met BA. I hate that part of the movie. I hate it. I hate it. They don't just stumble across each other by coincidence in the Mexican desert!

I like the movie, it got me into the show. I actually prefer the extended version of the movie. They should have kept the confrontation between Face and Morrison in the theatrical cut, it was brilliant.

I loved the film and the extended cut definitely helps the movie flow much better. Plus we get the cameos in context and not just after the credits casting was decent and it had a fun film. was gutted that BA's whistling got tweaked from the trailer though. in the trailer when he's cleaning the window he starts whistling the original A Team score but in the actual movie it was replaced with a random tune. shame as that was a great touch.
