It's also been a while since I saw this one, but I probably concur pretty much with all your opinions of this episode. Was the scam to get the helicopter the one where they supposedly needed it as evidence about some murderer? I don't think so, or it could be my bad memory. This is the one where Face was insinuating that he was a spy and they were trying to get this guy on their side through his patriotism. The guy even shows them his voter ID card.

I remember one where the guy shows a voter ID card but for some reason I can't really remember anything about that scam in particular.

Just finished watching this one a little while ago. It has its moments, but never one of my favorites. Does anyone know if there is any significance to the date that Murdock says at the very end of the episode? It's a date in October, 1951. I looked to see if it was Dwight Schultz' birthday, but it was not (born in 1947).
Probably my favorite parts of this episode all have to do with the helicopter - the scam to get it and then Murdock and Face sort of goofing around in it until they get serious about what they are really supposed to do.
Is that the Excalibur making another appearance (but driven by that punk rock-looking guy)?

Another thing that I forgot to mention but which I noticed last night when I watched this episode is that there were multiple times where I thought the camera work was strange - it was like a cameraman was walking behind the actors and filming that way. I don't remember this from other episodes. Has anyone else ever noticed this about this episode? I think I saw it at the beginning when Jenny and the guy from the fitness club were walking into the restaurant, and then I think I saw it at least one other time during the episode, perhaps with the camera following Murdock from behind.

This episode must not have made much impression on me, because the only notes I have are: What is with Face's funky mustache? And short-shorts? And inability to curl?
Awww... nobody wants poor Murdock. I do! (Okay, I can't promise how long he'd last, depending on his schtick, and I realize that last episode I was committing early-morning homicide on him...)That's just what I thought, it's a good job he did get caught, otherwise he would've been in the same position as before he went in. Maybe it didn't go to plan, maybe he was expecting something different once he got in, a bit like in THE A-TEAM IS COMING...episode, when Murdock lands inside the Russian consulate, that seems to go perfectly to plan. Where as in this, Hannibal lands in the garden, has a chat with the baddies, then was going to get thrown straight back out again. I never really understand what he was hoping to achieve by landing in there. Unless, like I said it didn't work out, so we don't actually see what he was planning. BTW, I love the A Team IS COMING episode, one of my favourites! I think it's good when Murdock just stands there, pretending he can't hear the guns firing around him. If I'd have been acting that out I think I'd still have jumped, even though I knew it was coming! How clever BA is in pretending to nearly run him down to tell him he needs to play deaf! Bet Murdock wondered what the hell's he doing?! 😁 I never realised when a I first saw that scene that that's was BA was doing, letting him know. It only dawned on me a couple of minutes later! 🙄 Honestly, if I was Murdock, I probably wouldn't have figured it out, either!
With the gunshot thing, though, I would think you might get away with flinching, because even if you didn't hear it, you could probably feel it right at your feet. After all, Murdock even acknowledges it. But it makes him look super-cool under fire-- literally.
Does anyone know if there is any significance to the date that Murdock says at the very end of the episode? It's a date in October, 1951. I looked to see if it was Dwight Schultz' birthday, but it was not (born in 1947). What's the exact date? (Of course, the significance may only be to either DS or the writer. I tend to put in Easter eggs when I write, even if I'm the only one who knows-- for all we know, it's the writer's birthday or something.) on Face's moustache. I assume a line or two was cut because it seems odd to have Murdock mention it and not have Face say its part of a scam or something Maybe he meant to start having a mustache but changed his mind before filming the next episode? One of those weird things like how every now and then there's an episode where Murdock is wearing a different shirt than his usual "t-shirt + plaid flannel" but that's never explained, either?

And of course the unexplained band-aid on GP/Hannibal's face!

I noticed it too. I think the hand held camera shots work ok. The ep was i think only the second one that Craig R Baxley directed. He may have still been nailing down his style. I think he was one of the better directors on the show

It sounded like Richard Nixon to me but that wouldn't make sense.

Yes he was both stunt coordinator and second unit director for every episode. I think that means that he managed all of the stunts. He knew the business as his father did a similar job on the Dukes of Hazzard. Somehow Baxley did all that whilst also being primary director on a number of A-Team eps, mainly in seasons 3-5.
