Have you guys gotten vaccinated yet? I'm still not eligible. I hear the States are doing really well though. That's good news.

I had my first vaccination in March and I go for my second one next week. Then, after two to three more weeks, I should be considered fully vaccinated. Still wearing my mask and doing my part, but I'm hoping more people get vaccinated soon.
I hope you get yours soon, Sidney!

I'm not eligible yet either. I registered on a wait list, so I can be called at the end of the day if there are some unused doses in my area (instead of throwing them out).
France is going so slow in vaccinating everybody... In january, most people here didn't want to get the vaccine. Then we learned that we didn't have enough doses and that only a few people would get vaccinated at first. And suddenly, everybody, well almost everybody, wanted to get vaccinated. Typical French, we don't want what we can get, and we want what we can't get... Actually, I'm pretty sure that was reversed psychology ^^
If I don't get called before, I should be eligible in June... Still a long way to go...

I signed up for the contingency list, too, Morgan. Otherwise, I'm actually next to register for vaccine. My age group isn't until July, but I'm high risk health-wise. There's highest risk, high risk, and at-risk. They've opened it up to highest risk, and high risk will be next. I don't know when that'll be. Things have sped up a bit so likely earlier than they thought.
I took my mom to get her vaccine today. It was a very smooth process.

Well, I'm vaccinated with the first shot.
Only reaction I had was a sore muscle where I got the shot for a day. Not even. It wasn't right away either, it started to hurt later that night.

Which vaccine did you get? I got the Moderna. Second Moderna, from anyone I know who got it, seems to hit people harder than the second Pfizer one. That is purely anecdotal.

I got my 1st Pfizer shot 3 weeks ago. 2nd one is scheduled on June 19th. I didn't get any side effects, just a bit sore on my left arm where I got the shot. Vaccination is really accelerating here. Everyone over 18 can get vaccinated. Just a month ago, there were lots and lots of appointment slots available, but we couldn't register because not old enough... now it's getting difficult getting an appointment, many people who were not eligible last month are rushing now to get their shot.
I also managed to convince my Dad, he got his 1st shot 2 days ago. As for my Mum, there's progress, she now says "we'll see" instead of the usual "definitely no"
Last night, there was the 1st live concert in more than a year in Paris. It was one of my favorite bands, but I couldn't go. It was a test-concert, with only 5000 younger people without any comorbidities... They are going to get tested several times now to see if there was any contamination. It's very encouraging!

I don't know how I feel about a test concert. That's so scary. I wouldn't have gone if I was younger and I wouldn't have let my children.
I got the Pfizer. About three weeks ago, just like Morgan. I don't know when my second will be. It's currently scheduled for the end of August, but Canada is decreasing that now. So hopefully in June or July.
My cousin, who is a heavy smoker and drinker, told me she's not getting the vaccine because she doesn't want to be a guinea pig. Asked me how do I know I won't have some kind of terrible cancer in two years... Everyone's allowed to make their own choice, but the irony isn't lost on me in this case. She'd rather pay the tobacco company to possibly give her cancer...

I understand the concerns about the risks of developing a cancer or another desease in a couple of years, or in ten... However, I'd rather take the risk and start living again now instead of being on lock down half of the year, wearing a mask all the time, being unable to hug my parents, or go out with my friends, traveling... I want to live now, not in 10 years when we have enough info about the vaccines.

I think we're all probably more likely to get cancer from the chemicals in foods we eat or the air we breathe than we are to get it as a result of any COVID vaccine.

All I know is the vaccines are showing promising effects all over the world. I get the flu shot each year. My kids are vaccinated, as I am. We have vaccines for chicken pox, hepatitis, and tetanus. Why are people so distrusting of this one? Is it because the mRNA technology is different? Then take the ones that aren't made through that science, like AZ or J&J.
I'm all for choice, I really am. But then please wear a mask and take care of yourself and others around you!

I think it is so politicized and that people are making judgments based on politics some of the time. Also, I think people believe the vaccines for COVID have been developed so quickly and not tested enough. Yet, I doubt that many people concerned about that actually looked into how long all the other vaccines they take were in development and how much testing was done with them. While I do believe the COVID vaccines were developed quickly, I think you have to take all the hours and all the scientists who were working on them together and compare that to other more standard vaccines. I would not be surprised to learn that the COVID vaccines have actually had far more total time put into working on them and more scientists than any other vaccine in history working on them. As for the concern that there has not been enough time to follow-through people who received test vaccines, well, I still think we need to stop this virus and take potential risk with the vaccine rather than waiting 2 or more years out from the test vaccine recipients' vaccinations.
But everyone has to decide for themselves, just like with any other vaccines. And yes, people may be restricted in where they can travel if they do not get vaccinated. But that is already the case with the yellow fever vaccine in many countries in Africa, i.e. you have to have the "yellow card" (proving you have been vaccinated against yellow fever).

Are numbers picking up in your area/state/country?
We had a huge spike a few months ago and went into lockdown again. Right now our numbers are pretty low, with no new cases in my region for some time now, but people are talking like we should be prepared for the Delta wave that will be coming soon.
Are any of you experiencing the Delta wave in your region right now?
