I also agree.....even my own memories of things from 40 years ago are very likely skewed. I think family stories sort of get embellished with the passing of years. And even when a story is told shortly after an event, the feelings of the one telling the story likely can skew it one way or another.

That's true, amyk. And Dwight and Dirk have worked on lots of different shows and films over the years, I wonder if their memories of different location shoots, for example, or of working with different guest stars, get a little muddled up?

I cant disagree. The human memory is unreliable. Historians know that but still value testimony from actual witnesses, though the researcher would then seek to corroborate first hand accounts with other evidence. For us as A-Team fans, however, the recollections of Dwight and Dirk are likely the best we have or will ever get regarding many incidents that happened at the time.

I have heard many times that you can't trust Paul McCartney's retelling of behind the scenes stuff with The Beatles. Many supporting players who were there have said he doesn't remember things accurately. We need a Get Back movie about the A-Team. Imagine a 7 hour documentary of three weeks making the A-Team. I'd totally watch it.

If they had the footage.
We'd need an insider to tell us if anything was banked or preserved from 70s and 80s tv shows. Somebody at the studios had to think of archives. Were they really that shortsighted that they discarded everything?

I am weary about how factual some of the stories that Dwight and Dirk share are now. I'm not trying to be offensive; please remember how much I love them. I'm just thinking about what happens over time. Your feelings distort your memories. And it was forty years ago now. I'm sure embellishment and bias skew their telling of what was going on. I'd still listen to them if I had a chance. I just wonder when they go on about George or T or even the network, how much of it is accurate. Speaking of "if I had a chance". Why on earth would they not release the boxset here, too? Isn't that the strangest thing ever? And why hasn't someone illegally put it on YouTube or something yet? Man, the things you can find on YouTube and no one has put this there yet... It's harder to upload more recent still available releases to youtube. They get taken down or blocked. I did rip the commentaries from the DVD though and uploaded them to my Mega account, happy to share the link with anyone who wants it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just watched the Cylon commentary. Thank you so much, thatkliqkid. This is great. Again, I'm impressed with how little Dirk has changed, really.

Its a relief to know that I had remembered an actual incident, though i was wrong to think it held up filming. Good old Look in. GP was a genuine tough guy, wasn't he? I still wonder if the incident happened in MANUVEURS when he did his own stunt climbing on the back of the moving truck. Ive also wondered about ONLY CHURCH. GP looked precarious as he sat atop the moving truck after forcing the bad guys to strip.

I do recall reading a few years ago about George being injured while filming a stunt, and the stunt in mind was I'm pretty certain from Deadly Maneuvers. I do have an article in one of my magazines describing this briefly (I'll have to go dig it out) Also in another article i remember reading that George nearly died while eating because he accidentally swallowed a cocktail stick, ouch!!

That sounds very much like what Hannibal would do. I don't recall hearing anything about this accident before someone mentioned it on here.

Amyk these are the words directly taken from the actual article
'George was injured in an A Team stunt a few years ago, when he fell off a lorry traveling at 20mph. He hit his back on a rock, bruised his spine and had to have 12 stitches. Filming had to be stopped for nearly 2 weeks, and afterwards the tv crew discouraged him from doing anything too dangerous'

Filming had to be stopped for nearly 2 weeks, and afterwards the tv crew discouraged him from doing anything too dangerous' I just found this one in my Look in clippings too (although I had dated this one! 12th December 1987) interesting how both stories are from Look in yet the earlier one says 8 stitches and this one says 12. There's also another bit from the Look In Action special 1986 that says "George Peppard does many of his own stunts. Once he was nearly blinded when handling a gun..." before going on to tell the falling off a lorry story again. (still 12 stitches in 1986) I know Dwight passed out on set once after injuring himself at home when a shelf/amplifier fell on his head.
