@miz: have they really cut the cameos in the end? I've seen it mentioned somewhere, but thought I had it wrong! Gawd. Now I really think Dirk is right to regret having done it in the first place... ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Oh, I don't think they do it on purpose and besides, the people involved in the new film are not the problem. The fans are, those who get personal and insulting, only because someone loves the old show. ...and now I'll be quiet again about this topic. I've more or less decided to ignore the film, so no more rants from me ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png) According to Claudia at the Dwight Schultz fansite, the cameos can be seen during the outtakes at the end. Hopefully that's true. Mossy, are you talking about *us* getting personal and insulting? ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) I'm really not all that upset about it, because as you guys said, it's pretty much AU/remake anyway and it doesn't change the fact that "our boys" will still be right where we left them. ;D

I already expected that it was going to be more violent than the original. Realistically, no people dying won't work to well today because the typical expectation for a movie or show has changed a lot since The A-Team was originally on TV. While we might not like it, the newer generation might.
That said, I read the tie-in comics and enjoyed it. It's what you'd expect, modernized version of The A-Team, but not that far off the bat that it's unrecognizable. The story in shot-gun wedding was a little more "James Bond like" than a typically A-Team adventure, but it was still enjoyable. There personalities weren't changed that much either.
I've only read one review of the film, and it was a good without giving anything away. I'm hoping Mr. T is exaggerating the "sex" part. I'm thinking it's just a lot of kissing for Face than we usually see. But it's not like we didn't see a lot bikini shots in the original show too.
I'll see the film on Friday anyway (dressed up as the original Hannibal).

80sguy, those are all good points. I read the tie-in comics as well, and they weren't bad. In fact, Face doesn't "get any" in his comic at all! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) (Well, at least none that we see.) There were a lot of scantily clad women on the show. There's no denying that. Even the ones who were "covered up," like Dr. Kelly, usually had skin-tight jeans on. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Glad I'm not the only one who'll be attending the movie dressed up! ;D

According to Claudia at the Dwight Schultz fansite, the cameos can be seen during the outtakes at the end. Hopefully that's true. What a joke. I agree with Dirk, that's indeed insulting. Why in heavens did they ask them to do the cameos in the first place? Idiots. Noooo, of course not!! But I've seen comments about the original BSG in other forums that were way beyond acceptaple. Thankfully you're so right, our boys will still be right where we left them. Phew. Maybe I should see it positive and be happy that each fan of the new film will be one person less we have to share our guys with ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Realistically, no people dying won't work to well today because the typical expectation for a movie or show has changed a lot since The A-Team was originally on TV. While we might not like it, the newer generation might. Agreed and very true. As far as I'm concerned they can make as many modern action flicks as they want, I even like some of them - calling this one A-Team is the real sacrilege. The team is the team, it was perfect back then and never supposed to entertain people 30 years later (and yet it still does and doesn't need improvement). They can do a hundred other films easily, it's the money that is the real point Ooops, didn't want to rant anymore. See amyk, I just can't leave it alone ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png)

Always feel free to beat an (invisible) dead horse, Mossy. ;D You know what really bothers me? The fact that six months ago, they made this whole ballyhoo announcement about Dirk and Dwight doing cameos in the movie, then basically saying "Oops, sorry" a week before the movie is released. ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) I mean, they can't fit two three-second cameos into a two-hour movie, and by two of the original stars, no less? That's baloney (actually, another word leapt to mind, but since this is a family-friendly forum...) ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

I'm not expecting a perfect homage to the show (that will obviously not happen) but as long as the film is good and feels enough like The A-Team, I'm fine (hope I don't bashed for that lol).

As skeptical as I thought this movie would totally bomb, I actually think it'll be pretty good. Most remakes havent been promising at all, but this one looks impressive. I actually came across these video clips online of the new movie and they've kinda changed my impressions. Check them out here if you're interested: bit.ly/9QimF7. Hopefully the trailers arent as deceiving as others are usually.

Even Mr. T slams it, yet people will go see it. I'll never understand. "Oh it's going to suck, it'll be nothing like the show. Here's my 15 bucks!"
I hope this movie bombs, BIG TIME! I will cry with joy.

I will cry with joy. So if Mr. T says reading comics are bad I should stop reading comics right? As much as I love Mr. T and the original cast, everyone has a different opinion on things, and just because the original cast might not like it, doesn't mean I have to share that opinion. Just like Dirk Benedict didn't like the remake of Battle Star Galactic, that didn't stop it from being successful (I myself have not seen that yet, so I can't comment on it.) I will judge the movie after I see it, and then I say weather or not it sucks. But saying it already does without giving it a real chance (let alone seeing it) is just lame.

Everything I've seen so far leans VERY positive for SC as Murdock. That's encouraging. ;D
I'm tempted to catch the midnight show tonight. Very tempted.

I just got home from the midnight showing. Stingers are confirmed. Do NOT open this if you don't want spoilers. I mean it! You've been warned! Stinger proof. s43.photobucket.com/albums/e381/nescartfanatic/A-Team/The movie is FANTASTIC. Really. As a fan of the show for over half my life, I can say... they nailed it.

The action scenes of the TV show are the scenes that usually bore me the most (except when using taffy or cabbages or Hi Brite soda as ammunition!), and it sounds to me like the movie is primarily a bunch of action scenes all jumbled together, so that's another reason it doesn't interest me. (In fact, from what I've read, it sounds like there are lots of hand-held camera type scenes.....those and really loud scenes are something that just generally turn me off, but that's just me.) For those of you who loved the movie, did you like it mainly because you enjoy action scenes, or did you think there was a lot of good plot and character development also? Do you think you took into the movie the feelings for the characters already because you love them in the original series, or if you saw the movie without ever having seen the original series, do you think you would have felt the characters were melding together really well? What they did with B.A.'s character sounds strange to me, too.....and I wish that all these reviewers would learn that Mr. T. never ever once said "I pity the fool" in the actual A-TEAM!!!! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)
