There was excellent "classic" banter between the cast. The interactions were great - Hannibal draping his arms over the guy's shoulders when they're "planning"... Face and Murdock during their heart to heart, Murdock's ability to charm B.A. out of his "post flying pissed off-ness" :-D The whole bank job planning, going wrong, betrayal... I was hooked. The only thing I disliked... was Hannibal's catchphrase said by someone other than Hannibal, grr! No mention of the jazz either. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) I can forgive that though!

Saw it today. REALLY enjoyed it. The cast was good, and was pleasantly surprised at Liam Nesson as Hannibal. It really did keep the spirit of the TV series, despite it being different in the most obvious ways (violence is more mainly). It's got a little more of a die hard feel, but that doesn't take anything away from the overall film.

Even Mr. T slams it, yet people will go see it. I'll never understand. "Oh it's going to suck, it'll be nothing like the show. Here's my 15 bucks!" I hope this movie bombs, BIG TIME! I will cry with joy. So if Mr. T says reading comics are bad I should stop reading comics right? As much as I love Mr. T and the original cast, everyone has a different opinion on things, and just because the original cast might not like it, doesn't mean I have to share that opinion. Just like Dirk Benedict didn't like the remake of Battle Star Galactic, that didn't stop it from being successful (I myself have not seen that yet, so I can't comment on it.) I will judge the movie after I see it, and then I say weather or not it sucks. But saying it already does without giving it a real chance (let alone seeing it) is just lame. But that's not the only reason why I think it's silly to pay to see this movie, you seem to have missed a part of my post. Read this whole thread and go through all the articles posted, there's enough reasonable doubt to put most A-Team fans off of viewing this movie. Logical.

there's enough reasonable doubt to put most A-Team fans off of viewing this movie. Really? Because so far the people who have posted about the movie after seeing it, have enjoyed it. The differences in the movie has not put off the experience of the film, and feel of the series. Any past doubts are not relevant since the film is out. The only proper way to judge the whole situation is to see the film. Otherwise, complaining or whatever is just pointless without giving it a fair chance.

I'm not saying you can't enjoy the movie, but as a remake of the A-Team it's a whole different thing. Of course past doubts that are based on articles & interviews with the cast & creators are still relevant. I will give it a chance, I'll download it and watch it some day, I won't pay for this because that would mean I support it being made in the first place, which I certainly don't.

Exactly, it could be enjoyable if you disregard the fact that it's a remake of The A-Team.

The unofficial weekend numbers are in: boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=main&id=ateam.htmA 26 million dollar first weekend on a 110 million budget, looks like a FLOP!!! ;D ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) It has made 15 million in Europe though, so outside of the US it may make enough money to break even, perhaps a little more. Though hopefully it won't be successful enough for a sequel to be greenlit. Wohooo, today is a good day!

"I stand firmly behind you" db28, but I'm kind of afraid one of my friends or relatives who know how much I love TAT may give me the DVD of the movie as a gift, thinking they are doing something good for me.....and then I may feel obligated to watch it, unless I can be gracious enough about it and just set it aside. So that is one of my concerns and one reason why I won't say I'll "never" watch it. But I'm glad for some of the things I have read about the new movie, that it is not the graphic sex and violence that I was afraid it would be.....one reason to be glad about that is that I think people are taking children to see it, and I am glad they are not being exposed to something more than what I think they should be exposed to at a young age. I think I've come to terms with it. ;D But I do feel sort of afraid that now people will accept things about the new team from the movie and apply them to the original team (see, I'm even being nice and not saying "fake team"), such as how the new team met as being the same way that our guys met, when of course we don't actually know how our guys met. I still feel like if I purposely watch or support the movie, I will be being unfaithful to my guys....I know, it probably doesn't really make sense....just put me in the room next to Murdock.....only make sure it is DS' Murdock. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

If there's a potential to revive the franchise because of the movies success, you'd think people would be more supportive.

Hi, 80sguy.....I don't really want TAT to become a franchise. I like it just being a show from the '80s that was what it was, and I suspect that is how some of the others who don't support the movie feel.....because to us, it is not "our" A-Team. I cannot think of any other TV shows (although maybe there are some) that were turned into movies that became a good franchise other than Star Trek....and even then, it was the original cast in the first and subsequent Star Trek movies for a long time (I think six movies?). Maybe fans of the original Star Trek series felt the same way even when the original movie came out. Then, at least with Star Trek: TNG (which I admit, I really like a lot) it was new characters. I think it would have been really odd if they put new actors into the same character roles of Spock, Kirk, etc. but moved them up into another century. I know they did the prequel thing with other actors, and perhaps many fans did not like that, but it still is trying to keep within the storyline of the original series, is my understanding. I think I would maybe be more interested to see TAT movie if it had been done as a prequel, like with the guys meeting up in the Vietnam War era. Then of course I would be expecting actors who would be 10 or more years younger than the actors in the original series pilot. But for all of you who really enjoyed the new movie, I am glad that you are sharing your thoughts about it on the forum. Thanks for letting us who feel like we don't want to see the movie also share our reasons......I think we can all still get along! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
