Original Air Date: May 10, 1983 Written By: Frank Lupo
So here we are the last episode from S1. Sidney's Rating : 8. This is a great episode and I enjoy it - the biggest reason I give it an 8 is because of the lost opportunity to give more back story to their time in Vietnam and especially their relationship with Ray. Ray had to have been very close to them if he was one of the few that stood by them during the trial. I realize that the ATeam was not that kind of show but that still does not mean I don't get disappointed when the show did not dive deeper into the back story.
I love JoAnna Kerns as Trish
Also ( and here we go) I know for all you "Murdock was Army not Air Force" people this is one of the main episodes sited because Murdock does wear an Army uniform at the funeral. I do and will always believe that Murdock was an Air Force boy through and through - he was not Army. I chalked him wearing the wrong uniform in this episode to poor follow through and inconsistency by the writers. Thoughout the series there were inconsistencies, so why not with Murdock's uniform.
Or maybe the powers that be knew that showing Murdock in dress blues would be just to much for people - I personally think I would be beside myself. Just imaging it - is extremely swoon worthy and big SIGH!

A present for those Air Force Murdock gals haha. Dwight's opinion on this was, Murdock wears green, so he is Army. And I believe the USAF had only one chopper division in Vietnam. The rest was Army. I just changed his green uniform and cap. In couldn't find a good picture of dress blues in the right shape. I will give my review later today when the kids are in bed. Attachments:

Watched this one on Blu-Ray the other night, for me it is a great episode even if uniforms are not accurate. Like how their Vietnam flashbacks include some of the title sequence shots.
Also noticed on the blu-ray Dirk Benedict doesn't appear in the scene when the bad guys dump the team on the edge of the county and tell them to leave. You can see it is the stunt double, also the part when they hijack the old folks vehicle you can see it is still the stunt double as he hides behind Mr T. Once they return to the widow's house Dirk Benedict is in the car. Wonder why he wasn't present for that scene when the others are there.
Also why did Ray not call the A-Team when they were having the trouble in the the town in the first place?

I think the double did a great job hiding the fact that he he was not Dirk - but once you know to look for it - it is very obvious Maybe Ray was too proud to call the team for help - he knew they had their own troubles with the law and perhaps he felt he could take care of things on his own. But I agree I think the team would have been there in a heart beat if he would have called them

SIGH-Air Force dress blues or Army green, I do love a man in uniform. Thanks for posting, ladies!

I cheated and watched this one last night. I know that most everyone here loves it, but I don't rate it as high as others. I give it, on the Sidney scale, a 6 out of 10. That still means that it is Very Good - entertaining, and can watch again, though! I dislike the cheezy voiceovers at the beginning and what seemed like it was going to be a Murdock obsession with license plates that doesn't really go anywhere. I dislike BA looking bored during the escape from the MPs. I dislike Fake Face (stunt Face) in the scene mentioned. And I dislike the cheesy photo with Ray that appears to have been taken at Barlow Creek on the same day as his funeral.
I'm not as into the whole backstory about Ray and unlike perhaps everyone else, I don't think Ray was actually a part of the A-Team, although I think they all served with him at one point or another, based on their flashbacks. I love how Murdock shakes hands with the man whose car they borrow. I find that very amusing for some reason.
The closing credits seem to go on very long, don't they?

The only thing that truly bothers me about the episode is the sequence with the Watkins trying to get to Amy and Trish. It is actually very scary. I can only imagine what their intent was if they got into the house and the fact that Trish is pregnant makes it even worse.

On the plus side, I do love how protective the guys are toward the ladies, storming up the steps like that. No surprise, Face and Murdock rush to comfort them while Hannibal heads straight upstairs in search of more firepower.

I actually like that scene, although of course I'm glad they did not succeed. I feel like it gives the episode a slightly darker tone than some of the episodes, which is good for a chance. And it makes the bad guys really truly bad guys. Plus, I do like how Amy and Trish fight them off. But it seems like Trish forgot about Ray having the other weapons....or was it that she didn't know how to use them anyway?

But then they make Amy go take the car back to the elderly couple. I'd be shaking so much and completely unable to focus on taking the car back....plus, with the Watkins still on the loose, I'd be afraid they would see me driving that car by myself and come after me. I think that one of the guys needed to take the car back and then rejoin the rest of the team.

He is actually wearing an army aviator uniform in the pictures. We know he eventually must have transferred to Army IF he was USAF. So it isn't very canon to make it blue, but I don't have any other good uniform pics to work with. I still believe in Army murdock haha. All his patches indicate army life. If he transferred his medals, citations and badges would have transferred with him. He just doesn't have airforce ones. But luckily it's all fantasy. Where Dwight was concerned he was army. Let's say Murdock will always stay a mystery. I believe this is the first episode where Face actually loses his patience and instigates a fight in the bar. He mostly hangs back for fights and now he was almost rearing to rip the guys head off. I liked how he was shocked Amy ran into his arms. He hesitated. I think Trish would not be able to get to the guns in the trunk easy at that moment. There are more than one locks on it. Plus the rifle might be easier to handle. I mean even Amy could shoot it. I liked this episode overall. They get whacked around etc. But. .. does nobody care for the fate of the poor van! Shame on you! Hahaha

I meant that if he was such a airforce hot shot he definitely should have usaf medals and citations.

I think the van is sort of magical and self-repairing so no need to get too worried about it!
