Yeah, that was good. That they kept some of that in, working for themselves. That's part of the appeal, the others you just know they're doing it, basically coz they have no choice.
Going off the point slightly, I always have trouble explaining to people about Without Reservations and The Grey Team and the fact they was shown in the wrong order. People seem to get confused when I try to explain that the final one wasn't REALLY the final one. Or maybe I explain it far too intricately! 🙄

Just direct them to Murdock's T-Shirts. That is the authoritative thing for me, regardless of when the episode was shown on TV.

That's true. Red Almost Fini before blue Fini. Can't believe they shown them in the wrong order originally How do you just misplace an episode?!

Well, I am not so sure it was misplaced as that it wasn't finished. The production order isn't always the air date order, and I think they never finished WITHOUT RESERVATIONS, thus the reason that the opening scene is essentially a repeat from HOLIDAY IN THE HILLS.

This episode is one I would feel is appropriate for Memorial Day. The gang is helping out an old friend who died. He didn't die in the war, but he is dead and they are doing their part to honor him and help his family. I like that sentiment.

This would be a good one for Memorial Day, especially since it has the flashbacks. Either this one or maybe THE SOUND OF THUNDER.

We watched this last night.
The boys were concerned about the van for the most part. Although they were confused about Ray being dead. They didn't get to meet him in the episode so they kept getting confused. They were glad the van got put back together. My oldest is always curious about the different guns being used.
They didn't understand why the Watkins brothers caused trouble at the start in the cafe. They didn't even know they were going to the funeral yet.
I love Amy stabbing the fork into Deke's hand to get away at the cafe.
Not one of my favorite episodes. I like the idea of flashbacks, but the voiceovers were dumb in all of them to me, except for B.A. His was the best for me.

Face's voiceover in that one really sounds cheesy to me.....something about the way he says "Charlie" especially bugs me.

Murdock's was about being vectored in, but that still seem to be much about Ray. Hannibal's was probably okay since he was older and in charge, but you didn't really hear much beyond the mission. And it was accomplished, but I never got the impression that it was due to Ray alone. B.A.'s being shot and carried to the MedVac was the best one, although I'm sure anyone would have done it for him.

I think it is kind of strange to have those flashbacks, since we didn't know Ray, etc. If they had actually included the team and Ray together in the flashbacks, it would have been a little more memorable. They could have just talked about Ray while they were driving to the town in the van. I don't feel like the flashbacks necessarily add much to the episode.

They didn't feel all that involved or necessary. Although if they had shown Ray working with the tea in Vietnam, that would have been great. Or even when he stood by them when they were at Fort Bragg. My wife loves the picture at the end of the five of them and how they don't look ten years younger. The other thing I don't care for: The team seems to have been beaten pretty badly and then dumped. Yet, they all manage to get up and shake it off.

I think the picture at the end was basically just snapped at some point while filming the episode when the team had on their military uniforms, thus probably when they filmed the funeral scene, and they just likely grabbed someone who worked on the show and dressed him in a uniform and said he's Ray. It would be interesting to know who is actually posing as Ray in that photo. Does anyone know?

I don't think "Ray" was ever credited, and I don't know if anyone on the forum has ever known who stood in to portray him in that photo.
