I did like the last episode. That last little bit made it. I don't necessarily feel it was left unfinished. And frankly, I'm not sure how they would've managed the "pardon" bit... would be too clunky (both to decide: does the team get pardoned, or find out Stockwell never intended to and was stringing them along? How do they decide what to do after? What's the fallout of suddenly no longer having to be on the run? Etc.), so it's better they left it a cliffhanger. But... the hint at more makes me curious. I agree that the closing moments in GREY TEAM sell the idea of it being the finale for me. While another season or a proper movie to end could have been fun, I am okay with how it ended...with just our four.

(Yeah... how're they going to ditch Frankie in future? I like to think they do...)

My personal A-Team universe explains how they got rid of Frankie this way:
Hannibal: It’s official....Frankie has returned to civilian life back in L.A. This is a letter from him....he wants us all to know he misses us but he’s glad we encouraged him to take the opportunity Stockwell gave him to leave Langley and return to Hollywood.
Murdock: I still can’t figure out why Stockwell just now decided Frankie could jump ship and return to civilian life.....
Hannibal: There apparently haven’t been any reports of Frankie’s direct involvement in our escape and nobody other than Stockwell and a few of his cronies knew Frankie was working with any of us on the missions we’ve done for Stockwell. I figure that Stockwell decided Frankie was no longer an asset to him.
Face (looking a bit worried): But what’s Stockwell going to do to us when he decides we’re no longer an asset to him? It’s not like we ever had normal lives for him to ship us back to.
B.A.: What else does Frankie write in the letter, Hannibal?
Hannibal: He’s resumed his job as special effects man in action/adventure movies. He says he’s using techniques learned during his stint with us and is in high demand by movie producers. He’s even going to be working on an Aquamaniac sequel with high-powered special effects.....but he says they still haven’t been able to cast anyone in the starring role.

I would like to think that-- we don't need him also getting addicted to the jazz and insisting on sticking around...
