I'm sure the guys would have escaped even once they were all captured....they already almost escaped (and it does kind of drive me crazy that Face didn't notice that the guy stepped over that pressure mine).
Would Tawnia have saved the day?!?! HAHA!!

Maybe he didn't want Maggie hurt... Because he LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS her? I don't know if it's just me but I don't actually think Hannibal is that interested? He seems very non commital to me. He only appears happy to see her when he needed a doctor. When she said she wanted to stay to look after him he just looked unfazed! And when she got in the van he seemed to treat her the same as Tawnia! He doesn't seem much more interested in Bad rock either. He only seemed to show any interest when she came on to him. Yes he said he would have taken the opportunity but once she was out of the cupboard he didn't seem bothered. I don't know if this was because she was seeing the Sheriff (which didn't seem to coincide with her character). it seems completely different in the FIRE episode. He seems really interested in that one?

I don't think Maggie was seeing the sheriff. Wasn't there some reference to him being married or to his wife or something?

I could be wrong but when he was on the phone to her didn't he say he was going to see her tonight? I'm going to have to watch it again cos I may have jumped to the wrong conclusion!?! 😱

For some reason I thought the sheriff was married, but I would have to go back and watch it to see why I think that!

Yeah, the sheriff was married or had a gf, he was really n the phone to her when his deputy came in with the sandwiches. This has one of the best starts to an episode. Funny how Murdock gets Face into doing another run, even though B.A says he’a looking good! It’s good to see how they do their training for when they’re getting sloppy on a job.
How do the bad guys know to get Murdock? Most baddies or police/military only go after 3. Even in SHOWDOWN the pretend team didn’t have a Murdock. Same in BOUNTY, how did the bounty hunters know to get Murdock from the VA? Maybe he’s not as much of a ‘secret’ weapon as he thought! 😁

Therefore, they would likely know Murdock was instrumental to the team. It doesn't bother me too much on Face missing the mine. After all, he was watching all of the bad guys by that point because they were outside. Inside, I'm sure he watched pretty well.

Face missing the mine only bothers me because it seems like he's watching that guy's feet very closely. I wish they had shown him being distracted or something at that moment.

I’ve never even thought about Face missing the mine before. Now you mention it, it has made me think. In theory should he spot it, being a soldier and all? Although he was lead in that direction and you couldn’t really see anything to give it away. He knew as soon as he stood on it though. I guess in real wars though, that’s how a lot of soldiers get killed, by not noticing a mine. Some are trained to notice them and probably even they miss some sometimes. Good point though, that’s never even occurred to me before.

How often do you think they go on those training trips? That's hard to say. Hannibal seems to imply that they need this extra training because they were sloppy on their last job. Presumably, that is a job that we didn't get to see on-camera. (What was the job the week before? Were they sloppy?) I think Hannibal was referring to the jobs in the previous two episodes "Chopping spree" (face gets punched in the face by Dennis FRanz character, van gets stolen) and "harder than it looks" (they lose the money, have to go back to the terrorist base, narrowly detonate the bomb at the end)...my two cents.

Anyone noticed the sheriff in the Black rock episode is Ed Lauter, the same actor as Major Douglas Kyle in this episode? I think I've noticed that before. Funny how he plays such different characters, which I think is good, so that we don't equate either character with the other one. Plus, it makes it harder to compare which one he's better at. With John Saxon playing two bad guys, I always seem to feel disappointed with his second appearance because I think his Martin James character was so much better than that other bad guy he plays.

My thoughts on Deadly Maneuvers have actually stayed the same. I don't think Douglas Kyle ever gave me the impression of being real mean or nasty but he was all about, "I get in and get out." This is one of the more original storylines in the series however it seems to somewhat slow down. The climax is fitting since Kyle and his men are mercenaries. There's some editing stuff that didn't make sense to me and the climax does get predictible. Hard to say if this benefited being a two-parter instead of just one episode. It's still pretty solid (especially that first half) and one of the best Season Two episodes imo.
