Yes, he really is the one that I can analyze the most. So, after Face, which character do you think is the most fun to analyze? And which is the least fun to analyze? I would say B.A. is the least fun to analyze because with him it seems to be pretty much what you see is what you get. But maybe we all have been missing things with B.A. So maybe we should start really analyzing him!
I think after Face, I like to analyze Hannibal. To me, he is the most mysterious of all the team members. The only insight into his life before Vietnam seems to be in BLOOD, SWEAT, AND CHEERS but it is not clear really if he grew up in that town or what....and I don't think we are ever even told what town it is.

After Face, I like to analyze Murdock. There's so much to sink your teeth into regarding his sanity, his motives, etc. Plus I feel like he's the most sensitive in the group... Hannibal I would LOVE to analyze, but they don't give us enough of his back story to really do that. He's so closed off. In the movie, they gave BA waaaayyyyy more depth, so movie BA I like to think about.

B.A. on the TV show has quite a lot of backstory....and he is the only character for which we actually meet any immediate family. Plus we learn a lot about his life in Chicago, his high school days, etc. So there may be a lot more to analyze about him than we think!

You're right, Amy... there is some backstory to tv BA... and his momma was great... There's sort of a sorrow to the movie BA, and some explanation of why the mohawk, why the attitude, that I thought was really quite touching. It made me see him differently, and draws me to him a little more. The movie versions of the characters made me like BA best and Murdock least! How weird is THAT??! LOL.

Second off... I thought movie Hannibal was least. Murdock was soo much better. Hannibal had the stuff with Pike but besides that nothing to go on. Murdock had Mexico, Germany, speaking Swahili, his bond with face and his gunpowder grilling.

I liked Hannibal better...he was still the glue that held everyone together. He had that speech with BA, the sagacity to "understand" Murdock, and some really funny straight-man routines to Face.
I still liked Murdock, don't get me wrong, but I do favor him least.

Ehh... I love Liam Neeson but he seemed forced in places as Hannibal. When he gives Hannibal's classic lines they were really forced. Murdock was freaking true to form. He had his sane moments at time like the original Murdock but was crazy the majority of the time.

He's a lot gruffer than Peppard when he says it...I think that's why it seems a little strange. It doesn't have that mischievous thing Peppard does. I think movie Murdock is a little nuttier than tv Murdock...like I said, I LIKE him. He cracks me up still, but I'm not in love with him the way I am with Schultz's version. The one who makes the laugh the most in the movie is Cooper's Face, I think. ;D "If I didn't trust the plan I'd be nailing myself to the container right now!" *nails self to container * ROFL.

I loved Cooper's facial expressions and for a movie remake of a show it was rather good. All four guys are returning for a sequel same as the director. Ok... new question. Should they make the sequel like the pilot episode with Amy.

I'm not sure, I think Sosa could be the returning "girl" character. I don't think they need an "Amy."

I'm agreeing with you but I could see Amy as being Murdock's love interest seeings how Sosa is Face's.

I see what you mean about the "real" Face perhaps including aspects of him such as his conning, his whining, etc. but I guess what I mean by the "real" Face is the one who he really seems to be deep in his heart. I guess I analyze Face like I would analyze myself - there are parts of me that people don't know much about, but when I think of myself, I probably think more about those parts than about the person that people see on a regular basis. So, in some sense, those things are more the "real" me than things that may be more obvious. But of course there is a sense where we are all a total package, the parts seen by everyone around us and what we think on the inside, too. Maybe the "real" Face for me is just who I really want him to be. Good point, Amy. We like to see in them what we WANT to see in them. I see that a lot in fan fiction! Face very much wears a social mask, many of them actually, and therein lies the trick, distinguishing which one is the "real" one. I do think he is wounded and that is what drives him many times. But I also think he LIKES girls and suits, and money. So that is the "real" him as well. We speak of his loyalty and yet, there were several times he tried to leave the team. He's actually quite the interesting character. My input on Face is always that he did the conning to get attention when he was younger and it just stayed with him. I believe his outside is just a shadow covering his true heart of gold. I also think his love of nice stuff stems from him growing up in an orphanage. He wasn't privy to a nice things growing up so he's makin up for lost times.

I think that's a valid way of looking at him, but I always want to play devil's advocate here. I think he does have a good heart, but I also think we cut him way too much slack because we think that--so there's a tendency to overlook his actions.
So I guess here is another case in point--Do Face's motivations for doing something make up for his actions?

For me, yes. I don't think it is good, for example, when Face scams people purely to try to "get rich" (although it can be funny, like the whole WINE FOR BREAKFAST thing). But when he scams because the team needs something in order to help the oppressed and downtrodden, I cut him a lot more slack. Especially if he scams something from the bad guys.
