I am curious to know of the people who saw the A-Team movie when it first came out (i.e., in the theaters), how many of you purchased the DVD (or downloaded it or whatever you do these days)?
Have your feelings about the film changed from when you first saw it? Do you like it better or worse or no change?
Do you think you will watch it like once a year or how often?

I saw it at the movies, it was a good action film, they were an A-Team but not "the" A-Team no one can ever replace Mr Peppard or the other actors, simple as that.
its not a bad watch, I haven't purschased the DVD though.

I have two copies of it on DVD.
I never saw it in the theatres. My children were so little at the time - even now Decker and I never get out (and I don't want to. They're only young once. When they get older and don't want me around, I'll go to the movies then!).
I did buy it on DVD and I love it.
At the old forum, we used to be so anxious about replacing Dwight and T moreso than George and Dirk. But it turned out that Murdock and BA were the better fits of the four movie actors. They were great. (Of course not as wonderful as the originals, but still really good!). Meanwhile, Face and Hannibal didn't go over well for me.
But it was a great movie. So many things I love about it. Murdock's one-liners were fantastic... And when it showed the clip of him trying to escape by jumpstarting the ambulance with the difibrilator (sp?)? It was so awesome. I giggled forever! And it's still my favourite scene of the movie.
All the Murdock stuff was very good.
Something I HATE about the movie is how they met. I wish they didn't even show it. They should have just already had them together. Having Hannibal meet BA by chance in Mexico and they both were rangers? It was kind of stupid. And then Murdock just happened to be in a psychiatric hospital in Mexico too? What *was* that? I didn't enjoy how they met in the movie.

I watched it in the theater, but have not seen it since. I don't think I have it on DVD, which surprises me since my family knows how much I love the original series. I have to agree that Murdock was well done in the movie.

Admittedly, I too wish they'd kept it as they were together instead of meeting for the first time.

Overall, I think it was a decent movie. The one thing that irked me was how they had Face come up with the big plan at the end instead of Hannibal.
Sharito Copley was amazing at Murdock. I loved the scene when they first get him out of the psych ward and he spins around on the helicopter rotor singing "You Spin Me Right Round" and Face is like, "Who is this guy?" That was frigging hilarious!

I never saw the movie when it came out. I bought the DVD about 2 years ago. It's a great action movie but it's not The A-Team. Sharlto Copley did a great job playing Murdock (I've been a fan of his since I saw his performance on District 9, where he improvised all of his lines. He's brilliant!)...and Rampage Jackson was a good BA....but Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper totally missed their marks playing Hannibal and Face. But other than that...it really was a great action movie and I love watching it every once in a while.
The only thing that bugs me (and it doesn't really have anything to do with the movie)...the thing that bugs me now is that sometimes, when I read fanfiction...I picture the new team instead of the old team and it's really bugging me because I definitely prefer the old team over the new team.

My opinions on it have mostly cooled over three years. There are just too many plot holes and, well, it's not as *fun* as the original. And yes, I agree with you guys that the Credit Sequence from Hell was way too long.
I think I'd have liked it a lot better had it been about the Team helping some restaurant or mom and pop shop in need instead of trying to be the next BOURNE IDENTITY.

I absolutely adored this movie when I saw it in the cinema - it blew my mind! I wasn't even an A-Team fan. I knew about the series because my brother and dad used to watch it when I was a wee lass but I wasn't too familiar with the characters other than Mr T.
So I watched it and fell in love with Sharlto's Murdock - he was so adorable! I loved Rampage's BA and Liam Neeson's Hannibal. The only person I couldn't stand was Face. There was something about him in the movie that caused me to dislike him from the go.
Anyway. I was now a full blown Murdock fangirl. I even read most of the Murdock fanfiction too. I then decided to check out the original series so I could compare them - as you do. I recall watching most of the Murdock based episodes first. Yep, I still loved him. After watching, my love of Movie!Hannibal waned - he was very different to the original Hannibal and lacked that charisma and enthusiasm (the jazz!) that is Hannibal Smith. However, one big difference I found was Face. Now, because I thought that he was a bit of a douche in the movie, I naturally ignored him whenever he was onscreen (move over Face, I can't see Murdock!). Boy, was I surprised!
Skipping to the end. I don't enjoy the movie as much as I did but because it got me into the original series, I can't really say anything too bad about it.
I also can't believe there was a time where I wasn't completely infatuated by Face! I can't even imagined me like that anymore...

I used to not be a fan of Face at all. I really didn't like him. I had no patience for him. What changed my opinion was some fan fiction! They wrote him so wonderfully that I began to see a whole new side of Face when I watched the series...
But you're right Movie(!)Face was awful. I didn't like his character very much. I don't even know what his character was. He was a little of everything and NOTHING like our Face, really. .

Was it a series of fanfiction or just one fanfiction in particular that changed your perception of Face?
Movie!Face seemed more like a mini Hannibal than anything else - he even made the main, end plan! Maybe that's the reason why Movie!Hannibal never worked out. Perhaps if Face had acted like Face, Hannibal would acted like Hannibal...

It was a series. And you can tell that the writer just loved Face, even though she did horrible things to him... And I'm not really into those things... But she really wrote him thoughtfully. What he thought. What he struggled with. His love for his team... It was really powerful stuff.
I read that Dwight didn't like Movie(!)Face either because they made Movie(!)Face too much of all of them instead his own character. He was not only too much Hannibal, but he was also too much Murdock, and I guess to much BA. I can see why they did it. Bradley Cooper was hot stuff at the time. So they wanted to make the movie starring him and didn't think of it as an ensemble cast really. And one thing about our show, it was *ALWAYS* about the ensemble. I know George and T combatted for the role of star, but what made it so well done was the chemistry of that cast, not just one guy. One guy may up the buzz, but one guy doesn't make it so endearing to so many people for so long...
