Since my family has not been able to agree on sitting down to continue our watching of THE A-TEAM recently, I decided that I would try another series from the 80s to pass the time. I had never watched it before, although I knew enough about it. It's KNIGHT RIDER. Obviously very cool car and story line as well as a similarity in helping people. But I never before noticed how many actors the series shared.
Today, I watched one that had Colonel Lynch in it. He was not bumbling or anything. He looked young, fit, and tough! Fun character all around and if he had been the one chasing the A-TEAM, you have to wonder if he might have been successful!
I also watched one that guest starred Judy Landers. Might not mean much in name only, but she was in WHERE IS THE MONSTER WHEN YOU NEED HIM as Face's leading lady. In this episode, she played a lady with amnesia who was key to stopping a murder plot. Great acting and range on her part overall, even though some of it was a bit corny.
I always find myself viewing the actors through the lens of the original performance where I saw them. So I expected both to be incompetent and ditzy. Am I the only one who does that?

It is always kind of weird to see actors in parts other than the parts for which you know them! Recently I have caught bits and pieces from time to time of the show TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT. The actress who played Judy Joy is one of the stars of that show. Has anyone on this forum ever seen it? I do remember it from back in the day when it was originally on, but I don't think I could have told you that one of the daughters on it was Judy Joy without seeing it again.

I have never heard of the show honestly, but I would have trouble not seeing her as Judy Joy.

It's the show Ted Knight starred in following THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW. "Jody Joy" (because I don't know her real name!) plays one of his two daughters.

And then some are just as nutty in one as the other. The guy who played Joshua in WHEEL OF FORTUNE was in another one last night, playing a similar type of character, although this one was a scientist.

I wonder if any fans have written a crossover KNIGHT RIDER / A TEAM episode. I think that someone could do a good job on that, if they were acquainted well with both shows. KITT could fall in love with BA's van. HAHA!

Would be a great crossover, especially they have similar episodes, like a motorcycle gang causing havoc in a small town.

I loved Too Close for Comfort! And now I can totally see that they were the same actress. I never would have made the connection on my own. She wasn't really the star of Too Close for Comfort. Monroe, the daughters' friend, had a much bigger role, in my opinion. He was like the Steve Urkel of the show.

Yeah, I think I liked Monroe! I have not really watched too much of it on the reruns, but it is on sometime during the day and I think I've caught it while eating some lunch.

Funny that we should be talking about this subject because tonight, Dwight Schultz was in one of the Perry Mason movies that ME-TV was playing (THE CASE OF THE SINISTER SPIRIT).....I still need to watch the ending of it (I'm recording the ending because I stopped to eat supper with my husband). Also, "Prince" (Dennis Lipscomb) from BAD TIME ON THE BORDER is a character in this same movie. This TV movie is from 1987, so not very long after TAT ended.

The bad guy from RANGE RIDER was a rough cop on KNIGHT RIDER last night.

William Lucking/Colonel Lynch also appeared in an episode of WALKER, TEXAS RANGER titled BREAK IN as a corrupt prison warden who's on the payroll of an incarcerated mobster. I think he lands like one hit on Walker during their fight.
Mitchell Ryan, who played Ike Hagan in the episode WASTE 'EM, was also the main villain of the movie LETHAL WEAPON. He's a drug kingpin in that one.

I saw Josh Curtis in an episode of KNIGHT RIDER. He played a father who was disconnected from his daughter.

Agree there are a lot of A-Team actors in Knight Rider. From the KR first season I remember seeing Don Stroud/"Deke Logan*" in the biker gang ep Good Day At White Rock.
The actress who played the daughter in WEST COAST TURNAROUND also appears in an early KR ep set around an army base.
On a tangential note I have just a very young Lance Legault/"Col Decker" playing the guitar in the back ground while Elvis Presley struts his stuff in "Viva Las Vegas". Cool film actually.
*EDIT: should have read Deke Watkins, of course.
